Brotherhood of Steel Fallout Loot Crate
Okay..... if you follow my Tumblr somewhat regularly at all, you know that I like to evaluate the Fallout Loot Crates when I get them.
.....I warn you... this could/will get petty, long, and ugly.
.....This is the smallest Fallout crate yet. Let me show you.
These are ALL of the Fallout crates I have gotten so far, in order, including the newest BoS-themed (and I use those words loosely) crate. They uh... seem to be getting a little 'skinnier', no?
Yes, items have been removed from previous crates - but I still feel like they're getting progressively disappointing.
.....Okay, the one truly good thing about this crate. I do love that Paladin.
.....I'm not even going to take the time to photograph every item. This isn't out of laziness - I just have other things to do that I deem more important. If you'd like to see a close-up of an item, let me know and I'd be happy to accomodate.
...Oh, and if the box contents list looks a bit... bent, it's because my baby got to it when I wasn't looking. Not Loot Crate's fault - just the 'cherry on top' of my unhappiness.
...A bit dramatic? Yes, I will admit it. I love Fallout, and I love the Brotherhood even more. I know this probably makes me quite lame, but I don't care. There were six items in this box. THREE of them were truly BoS-related. THREE. And of those three, one of them was a lame keychain - better than nothing, but the likes of which (or similar enough) I could have gotten from eBay, ThinkGeek/GameStop, or Etsy. Am I going to use it? Most likely. Not the point. (THERE WASN'T EVEN A BOS PATCH, AND THE CRATE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BROTHERHOOD-THEMED. WTF.)
The shirt is okay at best, and the figure... hmm. Better than Piper's, I think (the Lord Farquaad comparison kinda killed me, LOL), but still edging on kinda lame, like so many FO LC items. Danse never wears the bomber jacket in the game (normally), and of all the things they could have had him doing... he's sitting on a crate.
THIS IS PALADIN-FREAKING-DANSE. Kicka$$ soldier for the Brotherhood! Practically Elder Maxson's #2!
AND YOU JUST HAVE HIM SITTING ON A DAMN CRATE.
Do I expect him to be beheading a super mutant or ripping apart a G2 Institute synth with his bare hands? Of course not. But come on. Who's your decision maker on these? Because I can take every single FO LC and tell you how I could make them better, even if only a little bit.
And you know... I might have been able to forgive all of this (...almost) - but this crate was TWO MONTHS LATE. I had to nag the company - TWICE - to even get any updates about it... and I STILL didn't. And this wasn't the first, or SECOND time this happened - it was at least the THIRD (I started losing track, sadly enough).
Guys... I'm so, so disappointed in you. I am a huge Fallout fan, and I legit feel insulted by all the things you've done wrong. People are 100% allowed to disagree with me - that's totally fine, you're entitled to your opinions - but I will say... IF you decide to do another six Fallout Loot Crates, I will be very hard-pressed to renew my subscription. You would have to do something utterly fantastic to convince me.
There's two more crates left (if I've been doing this correctly). You already told us the theme for the next one is 'RobCo' (Mr. Handy).
...Not only am I not expecting much, but I will also be legit SHOCKED if it arrives on time for a change.
