been doin some thonkin about fallout Nick- i’ll probably have different versions, for fun, because we’re all here to have fun. for now i’m doin some thinkin about a sorta kinda sole survivor Nicky boy.
He was still a mob doctor, but got drafted into the military-- started out as a sniper because of how accurate he was, may or may not have been transferred to healthcare personnel ala MASH ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. He got injured while treating guys in the field, so he got a medical discharge.
Didn’t go into WITSEC-- the War kinda saved his ass in a way, haha. The Patriarca presence in Providence and Boston meant he was gonna get fucked sooner than later for trying to edge out of the Family.
His ex-wife lived a very far distance away, so she never even was there to try to make it to the Vault with him. His daughter was in his custody at the time. And obviously she wasn’t a baby like Shaun. She was still stole. But I might change up parts of that storyline, who knows.
Good with long distance guns-- prefers sniper rifles over most other things. Energy weapons are a little more iffy for him, but if he spends a little time with’em he can get kinda used to the difference. Really likes the laser musket, probably has one that’s souped up to the nth degree. Moderately good with pistols, too, and shotguns if he wants to get close and personal.
Decently strong-- kept up his physique after the military. Prefers bludgeoning weapons, gets a kick ass baseball bat he uses in a pinch from Diamond City, and is pretty fuckin’ good at unarmed combat. A boxer and a street fighter.
His SPECIAL stats are something like 6 strength, 9/10 perception, 6 endurance, 10 charisma, 5 intelligence, 5 agility, and 10 luck. They’re not exact, but you get the idea.
99% unsure of what’s going on 110% of the time
huffs mentat powder and washes it down with psycho ( more specifically, he was addicted to mentats and day tripper before the War, though he had mostly kicked the habit for his daughter’s sake. Psycho came later, and stuck hard. )
Barely even stopped for Codsworth, because he came out in a panic. Helped the Minutemen, had the extremely terrifying fight with the Deathclaw ( which majorly fucked him up, considering he’s barely, if ever, used Power Armor. At the very most, he’s only had basic training from, well, Basic in the military. ) Preston personally took it on himself to help this poor sob to Diamond City to find his daughter. They probably took some detours on the way.
at one point they stopped in goodneighbor. nick may or may not be a ghoul fucker. hancock wont tell. ended up, against his better judgment, helping Kent, becoming the Silver Shroud and fighting for JUSTICE. Managed to save Kent from Sinjin in the end, and kept wearing the new armor the guy made for him ‘cause it’s good and stylish it’s not cause he’s a dork and appreciates the gesture and thinks it’s neat no sir
not sure how he feels about synths, since he’s only heard a scarce few vague horror stories about them. Meeting Nick Valentine makes him more trusting and open to them in time.
