Today we are talking with a scientist about the solar system. We have also invited a member of the Flat Earth Society so we don’t hear only your opinion.
But For Him, It Was Sunday
Gym has TVs, which is nice, except when I occasionally catch a glimpse of the Mainstream Media
where I got to see the chief contributor to the Daily Beast, the rag of Andrew Sullivan, whose literal role is The Gay Conservative, See, We Don't Hate Those, executing a textbook Republican fire-mission onto some MSNBC panel show with a bunch of talking heads
nothing unremarkable at all ,his point was basically that both sides are equally bad, please ignore the absence of Democratic bombs and bombings
which is absolutely thoughline standard for the media, I flipped over to Meet the Press and got that same load of Both Siderist poison
but what got me about this particular dude was how he said, literally, "At the risk of sounding like President Trump after Charlottesville..."
you know, when a literal fascist hilariously memed his car into a crowd and murdered a woman
"... it's the extremes on both sides."
He acknowledged he sounded like the guy who said "there's good people on both sides of the NAZI ISSUE", only to then literally do it
like a bad writer hanging a lampshade on an overused, dumbass anime trope
and then proceeding to use it anyhow
like what light novels do
hint: it doesn't make it better
you still did the bad thing
what I would say, if I was in that room on that show, and the reason I literally never will be, or nobody like me:
[okay, so you admit President Trump was wrong to equivocate on Nazis. What, exactly, were you saying back during Charlottesville yourself?]
[Because I'll bet actual money it was 'you know, there's good people on both sides, it's this polarization and partisanship']
Which is horrifyingly rude
reminding people of things they themselves said, in the past
remembering things that occurred more than two weeks ago
very dirty pool in the media and politics to do that
extremely rude
And furthermore, I'll demonstrate my amazing psychic powers, and predict that the next time there's some horrible incident that draws a clear, bright, red line, and does not allow for Both Siderism from any honest person, this fellow will be there, with his blank, dead-eyed, Republican cyborg stare, going, "But it's the extremes on Both Sides."
Because that's how it works.
He can acknowledge he's doing it as he does, it purely to look a little more reasonable and self-aware
then do it and get the hell out
like a torpedo bomber delivering its payload and pulling away
"Got my point in, that's what I'm paid a pretty penny to do, I'm done for today, whew."
Bringing this back.

Sometime the idea of another side is just plain wrong. Just because there are people who persist in promoting the wrong, actively embrace the wrong and publicly demonstrate on behalf of the wrong, it does not make it right. Sometimes there are two sides to a story. Sometimes there is not. Due to a vanilla slice emergency, I went on a Dutch Bakery run. Once stocked up on various custard and…

What the Lord Calls Abominations: Revealed in the Book of Proverbs
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
Proverbs 3:31-32
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false…
