#false crocus geometer

It's a geometer moth! Did you know? There are more than 23,000 species of moths in the Geometridae family, some of which are indistinguishable from one another visually. Location that it was found is VERY important, as geographic distribution exclude a lot of similar-looking species. That being said...there's a good chance it's a false crocus geometer, or at the very least, a species in the Xanthotype genus. :)

Perks of accidentally leaving the kitchen light on: many moths come to visit! (Unfortunately the only one who would hold still long enough for pictures was this false crocus geometer... I swear, this is the only species I get good pictures of!)

Had a visitor at my sliding door tonight... I believe this might be my old friend, the false crocus geometer moth!
