Golden and green bog myrtle leaves, gorgeous golden scalycap, ripe scarlet holly berries and a false death cap in a sensational weekend of fungi I've had fittingly in a weekend that included UK Fungus Day on a walk from Culverley in the New Forest also taking in parts of the Pig Bush walk today 05/10/2025.
A fair few fly agarics, turkey tail, charcoal burner, devil's-bit scabious, yellow pimpernel, Small Copper and Peacock butterflies, Nuthatch heard, Great Tit and Chiffchaff both on the walk in the New Forest and in the garden at home were other highlights today.
