Some “libertarians” are just projecting their own intellectual inabilities and claiming them as their own; not say the statists are better, but fighting matters as dichotomy is destructive as well. #rationalism #ageofirrationalism #libertarianinfighting #bias #falsedichotomy #objectivism https://www.instagram.com/p/B255Nt_AJef/?igshid=10wkjz905x44o

A Virginian's response to the events in Wisconsin
One of my good friends is also great friends with Sherry Stanley, the former chair of the Green Party of Virginia. These were her comments about the recent events in Wisconsin.
Watching this story unfold from here in Virginia is a strange, even surreal, experience. The irony of former Virginia governor Tim Kaine, now chair of the Democratic National Committee, cheering on public employee protesters in Wisconsin can't be ignored. Virginia is a "right-to-work" state, which translates to kill-the-unions ---- and it's been that way since the 1940s. Neither the shameless Tim Kaine nor equally shameless Mark Warner (now in the US Senate) did anything to change that situation when they were governor; they refused, openly and arrogantly, to discuss collective bargaining. In fact, if you want to see either of those men turn brilliant red in anger, just try bringing up the topic in a town hall meeting. So Kaine is supporting the rights of another state's citizens that he denies his own state's citizens? The actual law that prohibits public employees from collective bargaining was signed by another Democratic governor in 1993, and since then no candidate (other than third party) for the governor's office has even suggested turning it around. Virginia's current governor (who hopes to be the Republican VP candidate in 2012) indirectly praised his Democratic predecessors today for making sure he already had what his Wisconsin buddy wants ---- a powerless public sector. He said not having "public sector unions" and, in fact, "very few unions overall" gives him "one of the great selling points that [he's] got to be able to attract business." I know that in other states the drama in Wisconsin will play well for Democrats, but not here in Virginia. After all, our Democratic governors have made sure Virginia already has what Governor Walker wants. (And please note, it looks as though Kaine may be running for the Senate in 2012 so if he wins that would be two Virginia union-busting Democratic senators ----- or if former governor Allen wins, make that one union-busting Republican and one union-busting Democrat). Believe me, the difference between the two big parties in Virginia is paper-thin.
