False knew it was stupid. False is a taken woman! Shelby was taken! But, damn, Shelby was just. All that, she's amazing. No way it could ever happen, Shelby is so obviously inlove with Katherine, that much was true. False was also, evidently, down bad for Gem. No way they could ever date!.....right?

(Meanwhile, Katherine and Gem having a tea party wondering when their partners were gonna realize that they could simply be a polycule.)

Katherine and Gem don't even care about dating each other. They could go either way on it really. But, at this rate, it seems like bringing up the topic will be the only way to get through to their partners!

But then they couldn't have gossipy tea parties about it, so they'll let the pair simmer a little while longer.

Gem loves to draw, flowers, frogs, animals, even just scribbles. She draws on her hands a lot, sometimes just to say hi to her soulmate. In this world, whatever you draw on your body will appear on your soulmate's body. Gem would draw flowers and stuff on her hands and she'd write some things like "Hi!" "How r u" ":P" "<3". For so long she thought she just didn't have a soulmate, her soulmate never ever wrote back.

Until she got something, on her upperforearm. A reminder? "Greet new members, make good impression." What? Whatever. When she arrives at Hermitcraft, she sees False, that exact same handwriting with the exact same words. Then she runs up to False, and is about to complain, before she sees the gloves on False's hands.

She laughs for a moment, then scolds False. Forcibly taking off her gloves, much to False's protest- who does this girl think- oh, those are some really pretty flowers. OH uh. (False wore gloves a lot less now)

It turns out False has a very sad story about how her parents made her wear the gloves after the first scribbles appeared. Now Gem feels terrible about teasing False!

False doesn't. The jokes she makes about it are worse than Gem's!

It all worked out in the end, after all. Fate has a funny way of doing that.

Magic is pretty cool, it looks especially cool when Gem is doing it. False doesn't get entranced by things but when Gem performs magic, all the hermits say it's like looking at a moth staring at a lantern. False gets utterly entranced and Gem's happy to put on a show, but the truth is, False isn't looking at the magic at all. She's looking at Gem's fiery red hair, vibrantly green eyes that glow just a little when she performs magic, her hands that become so very steady and her super focused expression, is all so endearing.

What False doesn't realise is that Gem looks at her the exact same way when she's sparring. The way False's hair cuts through the light, the focused squint of her eyes, the elegant but brutal movements.

There's nothing more beautiful than a woman in her element. Gem would argue False's form is its own kind of magic.
