I wanna like Okazaki. I really do. She’s just so poorly done it’s not even funny. No phantom thief set up, no real deep dive in her character, no foreshadowing until the very last moment. She quite literally came out of nowhere. And it’s not like her backstory isn’t interesting. It’s very open and traumatizing and you can see a small outline on what lead her to become that way, but even then it’s not in the show. It’s only on the terminals which you have to search for. It’s just a waste. Even worse is her relationship with Ninomiya. It does nothing but worsen her character by adding unnecessary SA which isn’t even well written. It’s barely acknowledged besides the Q/A. We would’ve never known that detail if it weren’t for the questions. It was just added to make her seem more evil. It’s so stupid.
