love it when people are surprised that you noticed things about them. but it's also funny when it's something they talk about all the time. my mom would complain constantly about a new coworker who kept saying he needed time to get used to things and learn all his cases (lawyer) MONTHS after arriving. once she started talking about him and my brother and I immediately went “yeah, Carlos” to her shock. once my brother and stepbrother were playing super smash bros, and my other step-brother and I know nothing about the game, and he and I were choosing their characters (since we knew nothing and it seemed funny). but I knew my brother’s favorite character was Link because he talked about it every. damn. day. so I wait until it’s my turn to choose second and they’ve been lulled into a false sense of security and I go “Link”. my brother was somehow convinced this was a coincidence.
