Every year for Iphelia, Taryn personally prepares Yehl a traditional elven meal. Though Zehel is half elf, he doesn’t celebrate the holiday until coming of age, but would often help Taryn in the kitchen. When he’s very young, Zehel eats a mostly plant-based diet like his mother, and would enjoy snacking while Taryn worked.

7. Goodnight

Rylan was never the one to really play the guitar much, but after Flynn was born, he had his dad and his twin teach him, at least one song that he could play for his son. Unlike his dad and his twin brother, he doesn’t have much of a singing voice, but neither Flynn nor River cares, they love his song’s which consist of one lullaby.. and…

Mornings

Adam is always the first one up in the morning. The first order of business, of course, is to feed Cosmo. And even though his son, John, is an award-winning chef, he insists on making breakfast for the family. Kevin is usually up next and has breakfast with his grandfather. The twins arrive and gulp down their food just before going off to school.

Because John is at the restaurant often until after midnight, Loki lets his husband sleep late and waits until John is ready to go down to eat.

Communication is very important to Akela. She hopes to bring more people together with her activism and learned a second language and sign language to further this ambition. Now she has started teaching Makaio ASL as well, hoping he will do the same in the future.

As Celaedian, Yehl was gifted the power of creation. Bringing Zehel into the world required imparting some of his spirit into his newborn son. This shared spirit is referred to as the “Vessel” and because of it, Zehel inherited Yehl’s celestial magic of creation and control over the elements. When he’s young, this magic is somewhat difficult to harness and he does so often unwittingly, but with his parents’ teaching he comes to understand his abilities more quickly.

Taryn and Yehl searched far and long for the place where they would finally settle down. They Valley of Sky can only be reached by air, or by those few gifted keys through the mountain pass. The most important thing for them was that they could live their lives and maintain some level of privacy. Though Zehel spends many decades growing up in Lazu’Lei, he doesn’t develop a strong attachment to the place, but often recalls it fondly.
