self-care looks nonexistent when his roots have been bleeding out the weeks he’s spent neglecting the bleaching touch-ups the company demands for tour.
with a scalp rumored to be unhuman, gyujeong slugs his way up the steps into the hidden entrance of the hair shop — by now, customary measures lead him to say hello to the worker who grabs his bag, and slips him a robe to put across his waist. more steps lead him to the upstairs salon, reserved in fear for any trespassers or pain-in-the-ass sasaengs that swoop in.
but, surprise is when he doesn’t expects anyone else to linger in the same salon.
gyujeong takes his seat, seeing the back of the head from another body filling the seat next to him. he doesn’t say a word, instead pauses in silence till the body swivels on the chair and he’s met with the face of another idol. “what’s the occasion — a titan comeback or just personal preference?” a familiar face means less greeting, straight to talking — he’ll be here for a while, might as well serve small talk.
duri was simply happy to be in the sun, to say the least. the sun was a bit warmer than the sun they were getting back in seoul, thanks to the fact that it was now autumn. but, that was okay because duri liked autumn, as well as winter - in general, he liked three out of the four seasons, never being a big fan of the spring, to say the least. nonetheless, he was doing his best to enjoy himself while on the weekend retreat in jeju, when he would rather be home, spending time with his and maverick’s pets, rather than being away from them all over again. not to mention, he almost felt like he couldn’t relax here, like he had to explore places that he hasn’t gone before. it really only seemed right, while in jeju.
just as he was going on his way, he sees a familiar face. his smile beams a bit more, before he’s calling out, “hyeju!” he says, before he’s running up to her. “i feel like it’s been so long since we last talked, bc has us so busy,” he said, a giggle leaving his lips. “how have you been? are you excited to be in jeju?” he asked, rather curious; which always seemed to be a bit normal, considering duri always sounded a bit curious about things. “ah, did you want to go exploring with me today? we could go to one of the parks around and explore it!”

the twenty-fifth year of bc entertainment is coming to an end and with it bc have announced to their employees that they’ll be holding two all expenses paid staff retreats this year, one for their office staff and one for their idols and close management staff. the idol staff retreat will be taking place the weekend of october 23 through 25 at luxury beachside pension in jeju with an individual room reserved for each idol.
titan is set to continue their tenth anniversary tour unixerse through the end of the year with dates in jakarta on october 1, singapore on october 10, kuala lumpur on october 17, manila on november 20 & 21, taipei on december 10 & 11, and bangkok on december 17, 18, & 19. they’re also preparing for the japanese release of a new mini album and single in november (though unconventionally, much of the album is in korean). the members will begin preparing in november for of a korean comeback planned for mid-q1 2022 with an album. bc has opted for them to focus on touring over most year-end shows this years.
lily is scheduled to wrap their one & four asia tour on october 9 with a concert in taipei. though not yet announced to the public, they will be holding a concert at tokyo dome on december 8. tenth anniversary activities for next year are a hot topic among bc entertainment staff, but year-end activities are reportedly nothing out of the usual with shooting set for their season’s greetings package in october. they’ll be performing at the melon music awards, sbs gayo daejeon, mbc gayo daejejeon, and kbs gayo daechukje.
cloud’s having a november comeback with a repackaged album. bc has hired a movie director to direct the title track’s music video, which will be filmed in october. they’ll be promoting “beautiful” through december 8 and will be performing side track “wanna” during the first week of promotions. they’re attending the mnet asian music awards and the melon music awards, as well as kbs gayo daechukje, mbc gayo daejejeon, and sbs gayo daejeon.
candy is holding their japan arena tour dates on october 2 in chiba, october 5 and 6 in nagoya, october 15, 16, and 17 in kobe, and october 19 and 20 in tokyo. they make a comeback in november with “yes or yes” that they’ll be promoting until december 1. they’ll also perform the korean version of “bdz” during the first week of promotions. later in the quarter, they’re set to release both a korean and japanese repackage of their latest albums in those respective markets in december. the korean repackage will be promoted through january 8. they’ll be performing at the mnet asian music awards, kbs gayo daechukje, sbs gayo daejeon, and mbc gayo daejejeon for year end performances. they’ll also be filming a new cf for lotte duty free, a cf for beanpole, and their korean and japanese season’s greetings in october.
dimensions entertainment is holding a writing camp for new songs with some of their most used producers, both local and foreign, in mid-november. while they’re in town, dimensions has arranged for the producers to hold a few songwriting, composing, and producing small group workshops for idols under the company who are interested in expanding their skills in those areas.
not long after wrapping single promotions, calypso will be returning with a mini-album in november and promoting through december 23. despite the fast turnaround and early preparations for their first ever concert in seoul in the first quarter of 2022, some of calypso’s staff have recently been let go or relocated to the management and creative teams of dimensions’ more junior groups. comeback plans for 2022 are currently very unclear.
polaris will hold love yourself: speak yourself world tour concerts in riyadh on october 15 and they’ll wrap the tour with seoul concerts on november 6, 7, and 9. in between, they’re set to release a remix of their track “make it right” on october 22 and to be hard at work on their q1 2022 comebacks. rehearsals will also kick in for extravagant stages at the melon music awards and the mnet asian music awards. they’ll be attending sbs gayo daejeon and the kbs gayo daechukje. they’ll be skipping mbc’s gayo in favor of flying out to new york to perform in times square on new year’s eve, and they’re on the guest list for this year’s variety hitmakers brunch in la this december as well. their season’s greetings will be shot in october.
quantum will make their comeback in november after completing music video filming in october, and they will be promoting through december 9. side track “hot enough” will also be staged during the first week of promotions and for christmas, they’ll film a special dance practice of “chained up”. beyond korean comeback activities, quantum is also working on a full japanese album release for january 2022 that will include their recent japanese single “can’t say”, as well as a new single, “depend on me”. they will be appearing on kbs gayo daechukje and sbs gayo daejeon for end of the year festivals. their season’s greetings for 2022 will be shot in october.
andromeda are being given time to focus on individual activities through the end of the year, but they’re also on the roster for the october 30 episode of immortal songs 2. they won’t win, but it’s valuable general publicity. there are plans for a comeback in the first half of 2022, though, and the members will begin working on that in late november. andromeda will also be recording, filming, and sharing alternate remixed versions of some of their past songs as an end of the year gift for fans.
the yoga and pilates classes being offered at gold star media’s new building continue through the end of the year. on october 18, gold star have invited a new crew to come into the building for a story on gold star’s “focus on artist wellbeing” and the news crew will drop by the yoga and pilates classes being held that day to potentially talk to idols who have taken advantage of the offering.
selene’s fourth quarter comeback has been set for mid-november with promotions through december 15. this means the music video will be filmed in very early november. as additional promotion for their comeback, they’ll be performing on the november 27 episode of immortal songs, where they’ve become common guests by now. they’ll be performing at the year end awards and festivals by melon, sbs, kbs, and mbc.
platinum’s japanese album will be coming out on december 8 with a new holiday single. before the release of their album, they’re embarking on a japan hall tour with a total of eleven dates: shiga on october 23, tokyo on october 25 and 26, miyagi on october 29, hiroshima on november 6, fukuoka on november 7, hyogo on november 9, kanagawa on november 13, aichi on november 26, osaka on november 29, and hokkaido on december 12. behind the scenes, much of the rest of their time this quarter will be spent preparing for their january 2022 comeback.
following the conclusion of their summer comeback, equinox has a few schedules through the end of the year. they’ve been invited to perform as the guests of honor at a kpop festival in texas on october 24 and will be filming school attack in late october as well, during which they’ll perform their two latest title tracks. they will have a photo shoot in november for marie claire korea’s january 2022 issue.
catalyst‘s comes back in early october, right after shooting their 2022 season’s greetings in the first few days of the month, and will be promoting until november 5. they’ll also perform side track “be quiet” during the first week of their promotions. special video clips will be filmed for their side tracks “white love” and “roller coaster” for release on youtube later in the quarter. they’re set to be busy at the year end with performances. they’ll be performing at the mnet asian music awards, kbs gayo daechukje, sbs gayo daejeon, and mbc gayo daejejeon. meetings and early work for their next comeback begin in earnest in december.
early in the quarter, gold star officially joins in partnership with a us label for ultraviolet’s american activities, which gold star has plans to push for more of starting in 2022. their 2022 welcoming collection season’s greetings will be shot in october. on november 13 and 14, they’ll hold their first ever concerts in seoul. their first japanese compilation album ultraviolet in your area releases physically on december 7 and on december 26, they’ll hold an encore concert to their arena tour at kyocera dome osaka — their first dome concert. when they return from the concert, they’ll be in early meetings for their q2 2022 comeback.

Yes, Laurent did sneak pass his own bandmates and snuck into Cloud’s dressing room. In one of the most busiest nights of the year. Purely to torture his beloved dongseang into his own bidding. After being in the industry for almost a decade, one could certainly get away with a thing or two.
there weren’t many changes happening between their japanese concert setlist and their korean one, but jaein understood why the rehearsals were necessary. t her, it felt odd to begin their concert tour in a place other than seoul when most groups began at seoul and then branched out. could be gold star’s way of trying to make them appear more unique or it could simply be that they couldn’t secure a place during the original dates they wanted.
both lux and jaein have gone through practice of their own solo stages and they were now sitting around and watching another one of their members going through their rehearsal. with a sigh, she settles down into the seat beside lux before taking a look at the microphone in her hand. “midway through rehearsal, i sort of regretted my song choice. maybe i could have done something more interesting,” she lets out though she omits the part where she knows she probably couldn’t do anything more complex. at least not now. one day, maybe she’ll care enough to improve.
the building doesn’t feel less eerie as years go on, just feels eerie when gold star decides to displace their own tyrannical march in lieu for public perception — enough, that the latent banners of ‘work till you pass out’ and ‘show me the won’ replace themselves with ‘health first’ and ‘free yoga.’ yet, seo minjung falls into her voyeuristic tendencies when she steps back into the bait, biting into the traps of yoga.
from a distance, she can pick up the rose-tinted narcissism of the trainees in their indirect tactless glares — who can crawl up to the top? who can survive before the avalanche of disappointment comes tumbling down? minjung pays no attention than three seconds before the steps in her feet lead her to a quieter corner of the room.
but even solitude wreaks disappointment when the first barking orders of the yoga instructor place her with another figure close by. yejun, and an ironic twist of luck leads them to partner up once more. “again?” her voice huffs another sigh. “i thought this was for wellness, not the forced family reunion of gold star idols.”

Despite popular believe, a lot of entertainers do not actually live for this moment. Being a part and attending awards shows eventually becomes tedious and a chore. Perhaps it's just his way of thinking yet after expanding their collections of trophies and awards from all over the globe, Laurent has begun to lose sight of his main purpose.
Understandably, the perfect place to have an existential crises is in the middle of the MAMA awards. One of the most extravagant concerts con awards ceremony, held at the end of every year for artists across Asia to demonstrate why their fandoms chose them as the best whatever it is they are. It goes both ways, of course, it's an ultimate concert for fans to see multiple performances from a variety of artists and bands alike.
The thoughts deviating from his self depicting mood that he could only hope that his "fearless" leader to notice emanating from Laurent that very moment. Honestly, the last thing he wanted was to get nagged and told off the moment they were out of public's watchful eye. Granted, he is very grateful for the unlimited amount of love, dedication, and support that everyone from every where has blessed them with- leading to the handful of awards previously mentioned. That's exactly it though, Laurent simply could not imagine what else is to come after this.
This is not the first time he felt this way. In fact, this would be the time when his sister would knock some senses into him by telling him that it's time to go back into acting. Afterall, that's where it all started for him. Be that as it may and despite the amount of times they have had this conversation, that he knew very well would lead to him trying to land a role in an upcoming drama or film, maybe even a stage play, one would think his meandering thoughts would calm the brewing storm. But it had the opposite effect. Because now, it made him desperate to hear her voice.
It made him restlessly shift in his seat. Warm orbs anxiously shift from one member to another. Palms sweating and his breathing shallows. Nope he refuses to allow his demons to eat him out in public. So Laurent tries his best to reach for the water bottle in front of him, taking a sip as he makes eye contact with his leader. Because fuck his worries from earlier. There's only a handful of people who could calm him down and Laurent isn't stupid enough to prevent from help. Not after everything his been through.
His movements would have been perceived as sharp and smooth when in reality it was all in an abrupt and jerking manner. Once Laurent found his way into the side of the band leader, he leans down and rest his head against the man for a brief moment, as though he was whispering something interesting to him. All the while, Laurent was simply counting his breathe and regaining his cool composure back.
The crowd around them swoons and acknowledges this as fan service. Yet again, another reminder of the invisible wall between the band and the rest of the world.

for a long time, mirae had distanced herself from having too much weight on her as a vocalist. by title, she was one. a lead one, at that. but her training as a vocalist had always felt too shallow to live up to her title. she’d been lucky to have a naturally good sense of pitch, which she attributed to listening to her dad play guitar and sing from birth, and a tone that sounded good — something that was a mere gift of a coincidence, but seeing other idols who had spent their whole youth in singing lessons and had come out knowing leagues more than she did had left her determined to improve but reluctant to place herself anywhere near their level.
now, as an established senior in the industry in a group who has proven themselves to deserve public confidence in their vocal ability, she has much more confidence in her own ability. it didn’t happen by chance, but instead by repeated vocal lessons and failing in order to fly.
now, selene gets invited on shows like immortal song as a group with a little more credibility than the typical idol group.
that’s not to say anything bad of typical idol groups. mirae would be the last person to look down on idols as inferior or to feel selene inherently needs to prove themselves as above, but there’s something to be said for being greeted with warmth by the staff and respect by their fellow competitors. it’s not something she could have really dreamed of when selene first made their dent on the industry as the girl group with the girl crush attitude and the catchy song. now, they’re more well-rounded than that, and that offers longevity.
selene doesn’t make themselves a win after their performance, but they get cheers and praise from the right people and that’s what matters the most. it speaks a lot to their journey as a whole, mirae thinks. they’d been lucky enough to experience the heights of winning awards so early in their careers, that selene, and mirae as a part of the group, had had to learn to find value in the subtleties instead.
the general consciousness has moved on to hot new debuts for the trends now, but selene has proven themselves as valuable for their experience and skill in a way mirae would swear as invaluable. they can stand on stage at immortal songs as respected performers in their own right. mirae can stand on stage as a part of selene as a respected performer in her own right, and that’s not something she would have seen coming at debut.
