    duri was simply happy to be in the sun, to say the least. the sun was a bit warmer than the sun they were getting back in seoul, thanks to the fact that it was now autumn. but, that was okay because duri liked autumn, as well as winter - in general, he liked three out of the four seasons, never being a big fan of the spring, to say the least. nonetheless, he was doing his best to enjoy himself while on the weekend retreat in jeju, when he would rather be home, spending time with his and maverick’s pets, rather than being away from them all over again. not to mention, he almost felt like he couldn’t relax here, like he had to explore places that he hasn’t gone before. it really only seemed right, while in jeju.

just as he was going on his way, he sees a familiar face. his smile beams a bit more, before he’s calling out, “hyeju!” he says, before he’s running up to her. “i feel like it’s been so long since we last talked, bc has us so busy,” he said, a giggle leaving his lips. “how have you been? are you excited to be in jeju?” he asked, rather curious; which always seemed to be a bit normal, considering duri always sounded a bit curious about things. “ah, did you want to go exploring with me today? we could go to one of the parks around and explore it!”

Even though he wished it for himself and still hadn’t gotten it as of yet, Samsoo couldn’t help but feel proud of and happy for Hyeju when he learned that she was releasing her second solo mini album. He had enjoyed her first one, it still being apart of his ‘favorites’ playlist. Her most recent release was something that he enjoyed even more than her previous one, and he knew that he would be listening to it for quite some time, especially the title track. It was catchy and addictive, and he couldn’t deny that she sounded amazing on the track. 

As far as he knew, the public wasn’t generally aware of their friendship with one another, which was why he had been a little hesitant to do what he was planning on doing, but he decided to go through with it anyway. Hyeju was a friend of his, a very good friend, and he wanted to celebrate her success with her. He stood outside of the building for that day’s music show, his fingers typing away on his phone screen, sending off a text to Hyeju to tell her to come outside for a moment. He was standing in front of a decent sized food truck, one decked out in pictures from her album photoshoot.

“a dance cover? with who? hyeju? of course!”

it’s been a couple of weeks since that conversation with her manager, and now minhee’s on set for its results. she bops up and down in place excitedly, hands held up at chest height in fists, baggy orange pants and jacket shaking around as she does. she’s facing hyeju as she does her little dance in spot, wearing a big grin. her hair is so long now, bouncing around her shoulders in a way it hasn’t done in over a year. there’s a lot to be excited for in minhee’s life -- it feels good. 

“this is fun, isn’t it?” her dancing comes to a halt and minhee claps her hands together. “we never get good opportunities to dance together, do we?” all of lipstick’s choreography as of late seemed to be focused on highlighting the length of their legs, a far cry from the more complicated days of first love. she’d love to release another song like catch me if you can, the last song that she felt showed off lipstick’s dance capabilities. dancing as a soloist is different. still rewarding, but different. she wonders if hyeju feels that way too. “ticket’s choreography is fun though. do you like it?”

a set manager calls them, announcing their five warning. deadly serious, minhee turns to hyeju, clasps her hands, and says, “are you ready to reinstate ourselves as the best dance line in the industry?”

kiana didn’t consider herself a particularly physically weak person. taking full advantage of dancing meant needing a certain amount of strength in all areas of her body. yet still, the feeling of her muscles tightening to hold something heavy wasn’t a pleasant one. and because of that, all the more grateful was ki to have been sent out to grab a case of waters with hyeju. each on one end, it was half the weight, twice the happiness.

although, being out with hyeju had drawbacks, like that, maybe it wasn’t so good she’d been completely silent on their walk out. her blurred mind of conversation topics mixed in with fears of how long she’d taken to say anything, followed by more worry whether she should say anything at all or if the moment had passed. briefly, when they came across the case of waters, ki’s mind turned to thinking on if it would have been sticking to her supposed morals better to have bought reusable cups for everyone and filled those instead of agreeing to lug a ton of plastic to be quickly dumped off. though no conclusion came from the thought, it did give kiana’s anxious thoughts enough of a breath that when she came back to the issue, conversation came to her.

“so-” slightly gruff, wrong, embarrassing, kiana had to clear her throat before forcing herself to continue, “so, uh, how did you start dancing?”

      an event starter for @fmdhyeju​ !

“i just wanna dance is really good, hyeju, really good!” this is as social as seungwoo has been in years. he can count the amount of parties he’s attended in the last couple of years on one hand, and most of them have been over the last week. tonight at the pink party, his cheeks are as rosy as his outfit - he’s drinking a little tonight. seungwoo doesn’t usually drink outside of his home, and even then he usually stops after one or two. that’s no different, he’s only on his second drink, but still, he feels looser than usual. 

in general, seungwoo has been braver lately. he thinks he can identify the source of his slowly growing confidence, but he still isn’t sure if anything is going to come out of that in particular. he thinks he’d like something to. he isn’t convinced that the feeling is mutual.

“it’s about time you got a real solo. ‘premiere’ ... such a cool title for a solo debut too.” he gleams at hyeju proudly. gears are turning in his own head, about his own solo career, about impulse’s future.

closed starter for @fmdhyeju concert wrap party

dax was sitting by the pool in a comfortable chair, whiskey glass in one hand, cell phone in the other. he took a long sip of his drink and looked over the rim, watching all the people around the pool laughing and giggling with each other. he felt his phone vibrate and looked at the screen before immediately sliding his finger on the screen to reject the call and taking another sip of his drink. it was the third time he’d gotten a call that evening and the third time he’d ignored it. dax put his phone face down on his chair after standing up to refresh his glass at the bar, quickly drinking down the remaining drops of alcohol. 

as he waited for the bartender to finish topping off his glass, he saw his friend hyeju a ways away. the bartender slid his drink back into his hand and dax flashed her a quick grin in thanks, watching her cheeks flush a bit in response. he could hear his phone ringing once again and he rolled his eyes while stretching his neck from one side to the other. it was getting a bit ridiculous at this point; surely his mother could take the hint that he wasn’t in the mood to talk to her about his ‘family duty’. he quickly snatched his phone off the chair and switched the ringer to off before sliding it into his pocket and heading over to hyeju.

dax was sure that his face was saying exactly what he was thinking before even getting to his friend. they talked often about their families, their issues. he trusted her to be a listening ear when he needed to explode from time to time about what it was like to come from a family of expectations. “this is now the fourth time she’s called me today. fourth!” he exclaimed, setting down his drink before running a hand through his hair and getting out his phone as if to show her the evidence. “i’m this close to throwing my phone into the pool and changing my number.”

There was this dumb smile on her face. It was easy to tell she was happy and that she was on the phone with someone. It was as if they weren't together just moments ago before they separated and had to go back to their rooms. Candy has had moments like this before, but she always told Hyeju beforehand. This, however, she wasn't sure how to break to Hyeju. “I'll talk to you later, oppa.” She whispers to the person on the other line, quick to end the video call and shoving her phone under her pillow as she watches the hotel room open and Hyeju coming in. 

Candy is a good liar but never with Hyeju. It's as if Hyeju had a Candy Lie Detector installed in her. 

“Oh, you're here.” Candy got up from their shared bed and sat on the floor, in front of her open suitcase. She was unusually happy for someone who is leaving paradise behind. “You can use the bath first.” Again, an unusual habit of hers as Candy prefers being the first one to use the bathroom and didn't really care if someone else was waiting for her to finish her bath. Bags and bags of clothes sprawled around her, having gone on a shopping spree but one of them stood out. A new pair of luxury shoes which she plans on wearing back to Seoul. It sat atop its gucci box on a chair along with Candy's chosen outfit. She hums and finds the Gucci watch she had purchased for Hyeju. 

“I got you a watch! I went shopping with mon chéri and thought you'd like this.” Her smile disappears as soon as she realizes she had just exposed something to Hyeju. A secret she's not ready to tell anyone just yet. She covers her mouth and nearly drops the box. 

Oh, she could only hope that Hyeju would like her Chéri.
