there weren’t many changes happening between their japanese concert setlist and their korean one, but jaein understood why the rehearsals were necessary. t her, it felt odd to begin their concert tour in a place other than seoul when most groups began at seoul and then branched out. could be gold star’s way of trying to make them appear more unique or it could simply be that they couldn’t secure a place during the original dates they wanted. 

both lux and jaein have gone through practice of their own solo stages and they were now sitting around and watching another one of their members going through their rehearsal. with a sigh, she settles down into the seat beside lux before taking a look at the microphone in her hand. “midway through rehearsal, i sort of regretted my song choice. maybe i could have done something more interesting,” she lets out though she omits the part where she knows she probably couldn’t do anything more complex. at least not now. one day, maybe she’ll care enough to improve.

duri felt like it had been a while since he last caught up with lux, as they both were pretty busy with everything that had been going on. but, with some free time in the midsts of practices and schedules; he was sure to make time to hang out with them. though, of course, duri couldn’t do just any regular hanging out or catching up. inside, he had to do it in his own fashionable way - an empty arcade where no one seemed to visit at the time; which simply made it easier to hang out with a friend. 

of course, the machine duri just so happens to lead right to is dance dance revolution. which is something that’ll never be shocking to say the least. duri was the dance dance revolution master of his neighborhood of itaewon, after all. he was constantly beating the high scores that were on the screens, others probably were getting a bit annoyed with it. he always felt like those american movies in the early two-thousands where they’d have those dance dance revolution dance battles. 

“have you been working on any new music lately?” duri couldn’t help but to ask lux. he was always curious to hear what new thing he may have in store. “ah, i think we need to create something as iconic as monster again,” he says, a giggle leaving his lips. he scrolled through the screen that was in front of the two, seeing which song to go with exactly.

at the bbq party, on-camera

“hey, congratulations on the high rankings.” frankly, hyojung’s not sure if this is the best way to start a conversation, but somehow she ends up sitting next to lux at this get-together, and it proves to be a little awkward to just be staring into space when there’s so many cameras just begging for these idols to interact. 

plus, she means it when she congratulates the calypso member. though she’s not in here for the competition, that doesn’t mean that other idols aren’t. for all she knows, lux may really be rooting for their own group to win. “i really loved the cover of hush your group did. it was kind of different from our own, but a good different.” this is the most she’s ever spoken to them before, and all she can think about is how she hopes they don’t think she’s weird or anything.

settling into her chair, she looks down at the food on her plate. most of it goes untouched because she’s not feeling very hungry. these kinds of situations are hard for people like hyojung. people who aren’t always open to interactions and socializing. “how’s preparation for the final going? if i’m allowed to ask, of course.”

     truth be told, duri was having a rather good time, simply just going around the venue that the event was held at. he spent a lot of time playing the games within the “arcade” room, mainly skeeball - he could possibly be a skeeball champion. you know, if that was actually a thing, but he was probably surely be beaten out by an actual champion that practiced for a living. duri just played the game for fun, every now and then. once he had realized that he had spent time in the game room, it had been time to actually show himself in the places that he hadn’t been to quite often.

of course, he did some some more time in the central garden, before he’d go to a room with more people - to be more of the social butterfly that he actually is. but, most of the time, it seemed to be better to stay away from the rooms that weren’t so people-y because he felt like the walls had been closing in on him a bit.

however, he left the garden for a few moments, just to pick up some snacks from the main room, and returned back. he had a meal in the main room already, something that was incredibly crowded. he had been walking around, trying to find one of the benches, before he came across a familiar face. he walked over to the bench they were sitting on. “hi!” he said, his smile beaming a bit more. “have you eaten anything yet? i have a lot of snacks to enjoy,” he offered.

“you’re home.”

it’s a funny kind of greeting, uncharacteristic of the kind usually exchanged between the two of them. but eunah’s barely in the door herself, her thin cardigan still wrapped tightly around her beneath her folded arms. the cat rubbing against her legs quickly abandons her to do the same to lux. she watches crys cross the room with a smile, and then turns away, preferring to stare at her reflection in their blacked out tv screen than at her best friend and roommate of over six years. they’d seen each other earlier that day -- dumdi dumdi dance rehearsals were inescapable, even for eunah, who’s already missing half of them for her solo promotions. 

she’ll make up for it though, through no voluntary effort of her own, of course. the manager assigned to eunah these days is the strict kind, the overbearing sort that eunah hates so much.

with a fresh smile, painstakingly painted onto her features, eunah whips back around to face lux. she knows they won’t believe her, but she does her best to put her best foot forward. for an actor, she’s one terrible liar.
