she’s supposed to be prepping backstage, at least that’s what professionalism entails. or maybe, she’s supposed to be complaining that with each footsteps her dress rides another centimeter higher — another flaw of the countless times she’s relayed to gold star to be met with no resort. either way, seo minjung does neither because for the first time she’s in the seat of a fan. third eye observation has her peeking past the curtains of backstage and the monitoring screens where arms crossed, her finger taps against the crook of her elbow to the beat of the song.
she’s lost in the music, first time in a long time. enough that she forgets the figure she sees for however long he’s been there when her head bops left, and park duri’s standing still.
“hey.” she shouts through the booming sounds of the speakers. “are you a fan of this new group too?” her voice is light, bumpy and boisterous — happy in the pretense of fanship. “why isn’t hypeboy nominated for song of the year? this song is the best song anybody’s put out in the past decade.”
season’s greetings was something that duri had gotten used to shooting around october every year. they always tended to have interesting concepts, that sometimes didn’t quite seem to really go along with the concepts that titan does as a whole. but, it felt like he was a librarian in some sense, which he kind of liked. though, he can’t say he was really feeling the outfit that he was in, the grey suit that he was dressed up in. it seemingly felt like his pants were a bit short - then again, what exactly does duri actually know? so, he wasn’t going to actually worry about it, even if it felt kind of odd.
nonetheless, duri moves around the set, as the individual shoots for the members had begun. it would be a bit until he was his turn to go, so he did what he tends to do best - wander and talk to the staff that weren’t apart of doing photoshoot stuff. he was simply doing his best to ignore how tired he was, due to all the stuff that he had going on with his own career, as well as all the stuff that titan were doing at the year end and preparing for. but, still, the certain smile was on his face.
he sits himself down next to haesol, before he finally speaks. “how are you feeling?” he asked the other. “i know there’s a lot going on with everything that we have to do, so you’re probably feeling tired, right?” he asked. truth be told, duri was mainly asking because he wanted to make sure he wasn’t the only one feeling tired. sure, duri didn’t get a lot of sleep at night for various reasons, but he still didn’t want to be alone in the tiredness or feeling like maybe he was being a bit dramatic.

after finishing promotions for the stealer, the titan members will film a show called ‘stealer house’ [2], which will be a parody of popular dating program heart signal and the concept of the show will be for the members to discover the the two secret stealers (the leader and the main rapper) among them by playing games and using their ‘tricks’. filming will only take a day since there will only be two episodes. the episodes will be released in late november for fans as a close to the stealer era.

most of lily’s tenth anniversary activities are over now as the year comes to an end, but they still have quite a lot on their plates to prepare for the next chapter of their activities.
in early october, the members have yet another campaign shoot [2] in their role as ambassadors for casio baby g. on december 3, they will attend a new store opening for casio in itaewon and on december 4, they will hold a fan sign there.
around the same time in early october, the lily members will be called to a meeting to go over the details of their next comeback, which they’ll already be making in january with a new mini-album. album recordings, choreography practice, album visual shooting, fittings, and music video filming will all take place in the fourth quarter. most of the preparation will need to be completed by early december so that the music video for the title track can be filmed in the second week of december.
on november 5, lily will perform a mini-concert at the base culture complex for its opening concert series.
lily will also hold a concert ahead of their new era and to usher in the new year on december 31 and january first. the set list will consist of the first stages of their next title song, plus these songs as well as “i feel you”, “candle”, “rewind”, “catch me if you can”, and “mr. mr.”. each member will also perform a solo stage. they may choose a cover or they may perform an original song they’ve released (such as a single or an ost). the day after they finish stereotype promotions, candy is gathered for a meeting. bc staff has been monitoring fan communities and although their crowned original song so bad didn’t perform well on the charts, it was received with enthusiasm among fans. as such, bc has arranged for candy to release a special, limited release physical single album of so bad and a new b-side, like this, in november. it won’t be an official comeback, but candy will appear on music shows for a week from november 11 to november 17 to perform both songs.
in early october, candy will shoot pictorials for elle korea and cosmopolitan korea’s november issues.
on their fourth anniversary on october 23, candy will hold their annual anniversary fanmeeting. their fourth year anniversary also means that members are allowed to begin to move out of their group dorm.
when they release their special limited single album for so bad in november, they will film a 1thek suit dance video for so bad as well to further get fans used to a maturing image of candy. an it’s live performance of stereotype, an unplugged version of so bad, like this, and i’ll be there, and a waiting room live video of so bad will serve to counter lipsycning criticism. the marketing plan is quite successful and candy earns several trending moments on social media and in fan communities during this short period.

quantumphase’s win on immortal songs last quarter has earned them quite a bit of newfound attention. it’s gained attention both from idol fan communities and some first generation idol fans who were impressed by their cover. they haven’t gone fully viral, but they’re going through a phase of being a hot topic online.
in the downtime between their last comeback and their slated next release next year, dimensions hopes to keep the buzz going by releasing a lot of content showing the members’ personalities onto youtube. throughout the fourth quarter, the members will be encouraged to film vlogs and a cover for upload onto youtube.

after that, most of the end of the year continues to be rehearsals. they’ll be holding a concert in february, as they’re informed at the beginning of october. the set list will consist of many of the group songs they’ve released so far, but will not include any of their pre-debut solo songs. they’ll also prepare a new song for the concert, which is likely to be a b-side on their next comeback (which they are told won’t be until the second quarter of next year).

with both queendom promotions and crowned festivities over, the final quarter of the year is relaxed for equinox. gold star has ultimately decided it more beneficial to ensure equinox avoids overexposure and ride the attention from winning crowned for as long as they can instead of immediately banking on it by accepting all of the love calls equinox has received in the wake of their win.
two of their prizes for winning crowned were a special fanmeeting for crowned voters and a special exhibition at the base culture complex. equinox will hold their fanmeeting on october 30 with a halloween theme. all of the members will wear a costume to the fanmeeting and fans are encouraged to as well. they’ll answer questions, especially about crowned, play games, and give performances of “dazzle dazzle” and “queendom”.
once the base culture complex opens at the beginning of the month, their special exhibition will already be on display in the museum portion of the complex. this special exhibit will recount their journey from predebut to winning crowned and will include some of their most memorable stage outfits throughout the years, recreated music video sets, and never-before-seen behind the scenes footage, dance practices, and predebut footage. on october 14, the members will attend the exhibition after the complex (before its grand opening to the public) and film their visit. they’ll be expected to reminisce about memories the exhibition brings up. the video will be uploaded online as promotion for the special exhibition.

-kill this love -jp ver.- is slated for release on october 12, but a few days before its release, it will be delayed two weeks to the end of the month, october 26, without any further explanation. in the days following the album’s release, the ultraviolet members will be in japan to film appearances on tv asahi’s music station and fuji tv’s love music. they’ll return to korea on october 30.

minhee is generally very calm backstage, especially end of year award shows. they have become a bit obvious in his opinion, with polaris managing to reach newer and higher achievements with every year, its almost boring when you know what to expect. he was happy about it, how couldn't he be? it was what any idol would want, something leaning towards eternal glory at this point. however, not every was always happy for some people's success and it really didn't suit them if you asked minhee.
"you know, glaring at me won't change a single thing. if anything, it also looks bad on you." minhee says eventually, looking away from the ceiling and straight at daewon, brow raised. it's annoying, bothersome as well, that someone much older and more experienced than him was holding such a.. a childish grunge against him. about things he didn't have any control off. it was sad, to an extend, at least in the polaris's members eyes, maybe the look he was giving the other was more than enough to tell.
they have barely spoken, daewon usually didn't spare more than a simple hello, a greeting of a few words at most and minhee never batted an eye at it. sure, he could tell there was something.. some personal grudge, because duri liked him just fine. he never pushed, never asked, but he thinks if he has to handle these types of looks for the next month, because titan and polaris overlap on end of year shows, he might not keep his thoughts to himself.
not that he is right now, but he couldn't care less. it feels like its been years since he has been getting the cold shoulder without a reason. there was nothing minhee had to apologize for, he wasn't acting like a high schooler.

polaris schedules are little more than some previously undiscovered circle of hell these days. any appearance they make, they’re no doubt performing dynamite and that alone is enough to irritate ash. what had started as trepidation when he’d first heard the demo had become a full blown hatred as his nerves had been grated through the rusty cheese grater of time. he has a sinking feeling dynamite is what they’re going to be known for for the rest of their lives and the very thought of that almost makes him want to quit music altogether so that he can go into hiding deep underground.
one more ‘cup of milk, let’s rock and roll’ and ash feels like he’ll go on a full-blown rampage.
it’s not any of the other members’ or any of the staff’s faults dynamite exists, he knows that. arguably, he’s more to blame than anyone actually present at the moment, seeing as his name is on the credits — hidden in back of the list of composers for a few measures of topline. so maybe he’s trying to compensate for his (limited) involvement by looking like he’d just drank spoiled milk any time it comes up; even he’s not sure why it pisses him off in a way other songs they’ve released he wasn’t musically fond of haven’t.
his mood is soured by the number of takes they’ve already had to do when the director calls for them to cut for a short break before they do another, so when he ends up stuck shoulder-to-shoulder with jake as they’re funneled off the makeshift replica of the late late show’s stage, it’s the last drop in his bucket of annoyance that sends the bucket spilling over.

duri had been wishing for this day for a majority of the stealer promotions, truth be told. he really enjoys the song, it’s a really good song, and something that makes sense for titan to release. however, duri wasn’t a fan of the choreography, in a sense. sure, he had it done, he was able to do it, and make the choreography look good with the skill-set he has as someone without a dance position in the group. but, it was killing his leg, in a sense, and he just wanted the promotions to be over. truth be told, he hopes the next comeback is a bit easier on the choreography. but, it seemed they were getting slightly more intense, even if the group was older. perhaps it was bc entertainment’s way to show that their eldest group was able to keep up with the newer generation, simply to prove something. simply, one of the reasons why duri has put his complete focus on vocal based songs, leaving his solo songs with choreography in the dust now - especially since they’re the ones that made his flare ups start back up.
all the early morning things had been completed; the arriving in the cold, the practice run, making sure everything was good to go, and the makeup, as well as hair being done. soon, he’d be getting into the last stage outfit for the stealer promotions, and the promotions day would soon be over with, and he wouldn’t have to worry about about music show day for the stealer - only having to worry about when titan would have to do that choreography and things like that were coming up. but, at least, it was a little more on a lesser scale; at least, that’s what duri was telling himself. nonetheless, he shakes it off, and it was time for coffee; then again, it seemed it was always time for coffee.
he was always thankful when there was coffee waiting for him; even if it was usually always an iced americano and duri was cold, but he always accepted it with gratefulness. for some reason, duri always drank a little quickly, but not too quickly, since he didn’t want to get sick, but he also wanted to save some time in what he was doing. he always quite liked being the first one dressed, then leaving the room for a short period of time, simply to breathe amongst the chaos that would become of the titan waiting room with everyone running around, as well as getting ready. so, he finishes up that iced americano, allowing it to surge through his bloodstream, and he moves to get ready for titan’s stage.
it was the usual thing, walking around the backstage and saying hello to the staff members that lingered around. really, duri was only doing this to kind of ignore everything else - aka him being really worried about his leg that was sore, all the floor choreography and jumping that he’d have to do, as well, which has caused the flare up anyways. but, nonetheless, he’s just trying to ignore it because if it’s one this - park duri is going to get through it because it’s something that he always does. so, he kind of just takes the time to himself to simply ignore the thoughts, the feelings that he has, and goes on his way. until it was time to finally perform.
all the worries that duri would tend to have was always something that seemingly washed away when he got on stage, when the stage persona would simply appear. the worries always seemed to be far away, when in reality they were close - but, they really weren’t there when he was on stage. except for the times when he could really, really feel the pain in his leg, always doing his best to ignore it. he was doing that right now, with how sore it simply felt. but, he was going to get through the performance, even if it was something that sometimes felt so long, especially in a moment when you’re ready for it to end. but, nonetheless, duri gets through it, he pulls the performance off without a hitch, and does great; as he tends to always do. once it ends, it was as if a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.
he tends himself that once he got home, he’d rest well, and he’d have a nice soak in the bath to help the soreness, to prepare for all the practices, and everything else he was going to have to do for the rest of the year. nothing to worry about, at all.

after so many years, it would be something that most people would get used to. but, oddly enough, duri had never gotten used to the whole thing. which was kind of odd and it was odd that he had felt this way since the birthday that he had turned six-years-old, who decides something of that nature at that age? but, which him making himself grow up way too fast because of what had happened, the trauma that had been placed upon him because of the accident, and everything in between.
his birthday - that was the thing that park duri no longer celebrated. it was simply the day that he turned a different age in international standards, the day that he was born, and the random day that he still ate seaweed soup - but, that was all he did when it came to his birthday. before his sixth birthday, duri had told his uncle and aunt that he didn’t want to celebrate it - he wanted the twenty-fifth of december to be any other day, he wanted to spend it with family, but he didn’t want it to be about his birthday at all. why would he want to celebrate it when the people who gave him life were no longer in the living world? it didn’t seem right to him, in a sense, it was shocking that a brain that was almost six-years-old had decided something of that. but, his family seemingly didn’t question, and it was something that continued because simply, duri just didn’t like his birthday. he always felt a bit sad, a bit gloomy, and he really didn’t want anything to do with it.
though, of course, that was something that kind of changed when he became an idol. everyone paid attention to his birthday, fans showering him with gifts, and essentially having to publicly celebrate his birthday. it was something that had always felt odd, since for ten years before that, he had gotten used to simply no longer celebrating it, making it just another day. but, once he debuted and that first year, he had to simply change how things had gone... and this year, being an idol for almost tweleve years, it wasn’t any different; unfortunately. he just continued to be his usual, actual self; the very happy, puppy-esque person - even if he was feeling those feelings that he would usually feel.
every single year, it had always seemed, at least most years, that there was a gayo on his birthday. which meant that duri had to pretend to celebrate his birthday, as he’s showered with birthday wishes from everyone, the fans that he would be meeting outside the venue, and everything in between. he doesn’t think he’d ever really explain to anyone why he doesn’t celebrate his birthday really or if his reasoning really made sense. perhaps it was weird, it wasn’t normal, but what can one do, right? luckily, he wasn’t really showered with gifts anymore, considering he had asked fans to donate instead of giving him gifts. that’s something that duri had always preferred, anyways. nonetheless, he had to move on and just let it be, it was something that he couldn’t change. he’d just celebrate it while at the gayo, and that could be good enough, right?
though, truth be told, he was still rather disappointed that there’s a gayo on his birthday. it was something that he really, really couldn’t help, truth be told. but, he told himself it was going to be fine. even if there were odd knots seemingly in his stomach currently, something that would probably continue in some sense, every time he hears the words happy birthday, uttered towards him. it would be okay, it would be fine - he’d be fine, that’s what he could be.
he moves through the usual motions of doing everything, thanking staff, and other idols that had given him birthday wishes. he’d give his really big, warm smile - that smile that always made his eyes do eye smiles, and his thanks. it was nice, though, that so many people wanted to give him birthday wishes as he walked through the backstage of the sbs gayo daejeon. that’s where the true bulk of the wishes were and he was happy to receive them because to him, it meant that in some light, they cared about him in a way to wish him well in that sort of way. even if it was something that he kind of wished he wouldn’t hear, so he could go along with not actually celebrating it.
however, the big thing was when he enters the room that titan has backstage and a burst of happy birthday occurs, with a cake being held to him. his smile grows, the eye smile being rather prominent as he did so, and giggles leaving his lips. this was people really caring about him, going out of their way every year to do something like this if they managed to have a schedule on the twenty-fifth of december, which was more likely than not, of course. when it comes time to blow out the candles, he wishes for the same thing that he wishes for every year - to finally actually be okay to be more than just the fine that he usually was. he knows that one year, it’s something that’ll finally come true, and it can do that much when he has to celebrate his birthday publicly. that would be enough, wouldn’t it?
nonetheless, duri moves from the dressing room with the cake, outside to the hallway. he’s sure to be careful with the cake and hold it rather carefully, making sure it doesn’t slip. he poses for the phone camera, photos to be used to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and everything in between. it’s something that would be among the photos that he would post, that he does every year to thank the fans and to wish them a merry christmas, even if they didn’t fully celebrate the holiday like a lot of the world does, they simply do it differently. but, it had finally gotten out of the way, and he reenters the dressing room.
he knows that this was really just the start of the birthday wishes, the festivities of things that were going on with no one really knowing that he’s not a fan of celebrating his birthday and would much rather just simply brush right over it. but, this at least felt like a big portion of it being done, and he could soon pretend like it wasn’t his birthday - turn the twenty-fifth of december back to just any other day or change it the slight christmas celebration in some way. a little bit of a weight off the shoulders, at least.

every year they had a photoshoot to do for a season’s greeting; it was one of the many things that duri had gotten rather used to when it came to schedules. photoshoots were something that he had gotten comfortable with after so long, considering it seemed to be one of the things that he does the most now. since a lot of his solo schedules had become photoshoots and shoots with his brand ambassadorships, which almost felt a bit odd that so many people wanted him to be the face of their brands. he wasn’t entirely sure if it was something that he was ever going to get used to; it just never seemed right, but that was probably just those incredibly ridiculous insecurities that duri has for no reason what so ever. but, that was something that wasn’t that important currently.
he had gotten through doing the group photos, something that generally took a bit with how many photos tend to be taken with the different poses, the different positions, things changing, and everything in between. it was your normal thing, something that never changed for group photoshoots. they filmed the teaser videos of the group speaking, which felt a bit different because he felt like that was something that titan didn’t often do. but, he always welcomed that kind of change, to say the least. they finish up a few more things, before being told that it was time for the individual shots. which just meant that it would be a while until they got to duri. which also meant that duri would have find ways to entertain himself until that time came.
duri does the normal things that he does, linger around the set, and talking to the staff members that he comes in contact; always looking for someone to have a conversation with. which was probably always why duri always seemed more extroverted than ambiverted, but he swears that he’s an ambivert because he always needed to recharge from social settings. though, probably not really from this, considering it wasn’t as big of a social setting. though, he could say he was rather tired, something that was pretty normal for park duri, it seems. but, he always got through it, and he was determined to get through the day, even if he was rather tired. he always managed to do it.
though, he’d probably search for some coffee to actually help with that - and he was sure to do just that. it helped to really just wake him up a bit more, which was always nice. so, he went on the hunt to find at least something lingering around, and luckily, there was an area of coffee to really be his savior in this moment. he had quickly made his way, before making sure to fill up a cup, and drink the coffee rather carefully, and a bit quickly (even though it was hot), just incase he was up soon. then again, that wasn’t actually the case, considering the fact that he still had a while to go with him often being one of the last members to shoot the individual shots. nonetheless, following his coffee escapade, duri simply just makes his way to relax for a while, even talk to the group’s youngest for a bit.
after that while, he had made his way towards a dressing room, just to fix his outfit a bit from the walking around, the sitting, and everything else. he enters, before going over to a mirror, where he looks over himself, and straightens things out. he still was rather confused by his own outfit, mainly why he felt like the fact that the pants didn’t go pass his ankles. was that some kind of look that he didn’t quite understand? or was it an accident on the styling part? it was too late now to tell minho, especially since he went through group shots like that, and no one saw anything wrong with the pants. so, he’d just kind of pretend like there wasn’t anything wrong; even if he does think he looks a little weird with the pants. but, what was he meant to do? nonetheless, he’s sure to straighten everything out, before he’d make his way towards other stylists to adjust his makeup and fix his hair a bit before he was off to do his own individual shots.
he goes through those same old motions, doing everything that he knew, that he’s learned; and that he apparently does really well with photoshoots, never excepting to actively be as good as he gets praised when it comes to photoshoots. perhaps, maybe, duri had to really just get over those ridiculous insecurities, because he kind of realizes that they’re really ridiculous - but, he also can’t ever seem to really shake them. but, nonetheless, he had finished his own shots after a good while.
there was a few other things needed to be done, but truth be told, he was just glad to be done with most of the shooting, nonetheless.
