#tbt @janineds store #CandidLA debuting at #FAMESS2013. So proud of her 😊.
Finally got to meet the beautiful, @geraldinexd💗 thank you so much for your support and helping me dress @trinitydang. You're the sweetest! I'm looking forward to seeing you at the next #famess2013😘
I got 20 mins so let's do this quick!
First, I have to give a shoutout to my AMAZING photographer, Darren, for taking photos for me on such short notice and providing excellent quality photographs. Thank you SO SO MUCH!!
Next, HUGE shoutout to my website designer, Kenny. You are truly amazing with HTML. Thank you for putting up with me constantly changing this and that. So patient yet you still were able to produce an amazing website for me for the deadline that I had set.
Also, Shoutout to The Clique, Turtle Speed, Hella Bastos, AKA Gyrex for hooking it up with shirts!! He was able to provide beautifully printed shirts with the exact description on how I wanted it to look like and have it done quickly on such short notice.
With that in mind, Thanks to The Vince who designed my tshirts AND was the event photographer for FAME!! :D I'm excited to see those photos!
FAMESS2013:
Crazy day! TK and I arrived at the location around 3 for setup. THANK GOD we were set up inbetween Koji Sake Lounge and Tootie Cakes! Right in the middle! :) We actually set up pretty quickly so we didn't have much to do afterwards. I'm so happy about our setup. From last year, I have learned so much, which in return boosted my table appearance by 100% I think that I wouldn't have done so well if I stuck with my old ways.
Right around 430/5 We started putting our products out on display and people were already lining up! I was super shocked. The event started at 7 and I already had customers! :) Once Vince and Akash came to help out, it was smooth sailing (for me) from there. Good think Akash is good with money and TK was tall. Haha. I can't do mental math for the life of me. After that, I walked around with Erie and passed out some business cards and talked to vendors to promote my business.
I absolutely loved the location that we were at. Koji Sake Lounge staff is so friendly! Because none of my employees drink, they decided to hook us up if we ever needed drinks! My birthday is coming up, so maybe I'll reserve a spot!! Thu (Tootie Cakes) is so sweet and gorgeous! Her cupcakes are delish too! :) I had a great time with my vendor neighbors.
After that, the night went by quickly in such a blur! I was shocked to see how many people knew us! I didn't know that we were that well known! It makes me extremely proud of what I have accomplished so far. Not bad for about 350 likes on FB and nearly 800 followers on IG!
We sold out so quickly! At the end of FAME, I decided to give away the rest of my macarons. This one girl came up to buy some and she basically bought all BUT 1, so I just gave her that last one since I wasn't going to do anything about it. I told her to IG me and she was like, "Yeah I will! I have a lot of followers". I though "a lot of followers" meant a thousand or so. But NO she has 12k followers on IG and is the OWNER of Candid LA.
(She actually IG'd my macs today and I got almost 100 followers and over 200 more likes! Crazy! She has nearly 2k likes on that photo alone! So crazy. I'm super glad that she was the last one that came to our table and that I just gave her the last macaron)
Anyway, crazy event. Thank you so much Bobbi Vie! I hope you liked our box of macs, and thanks to Sushie!! Our #1 customer! :) I wouldn't have been given this amazing opportunity without you guys. I am looking forward to the next FAME event!!
VSA:
I have no idea what really went down that day, but I what I know is that we sold out! At first, people were a little iffy about buying from me, but I told them that all proceeds go to MEMO and VSA. During intermission, we sold about 50 macs. Luckily Erie was there after the show to promote us even more. She basically knew everyone and was able to make people buy more! We had this one customer who basically bought about 100 macs alone!
Seriously, at the last minute as we were cleaning up, we put all the macs in several boxes and sold it as a set. Which sold like hotcakes.
I don't think I've ever sold out before. So these 2 events back to back was a great stress reliever and definitely boosted my confidence.
Thank you to my staff: Erie, for managing everything and getting people to buy from us! TK and Akash for handling the back while I was off enjoying myself. and Timmy for being my punching bag when I stress out like crazy.
Sorry if my english has gotten worse. I'm so tired and I can't think anymore.
All in all, its just crazy to see where my position is at right now. In 1 year, I feel that my life has gone a whole 360 and turned around. For a few years after high school, I was at a stalemate in my career. But now it is exactly where I'd like it to be! Slowly but steady, I am getting more and more business as well as being more well known. I was even asked to sponsor a Club Sportiva event! Can you imagine where I'd be after I finish this event? I'm so excited!
tldr: my life is good. I am truly blessed. Work hard, play hard. 8) yeye
