The Water Wizard in our Group uses his Otter to great advantage! He freezes the ground in a line with his few levels of kineticist, then just YEETS that little guy along that, delivering Touch spells. Or he just climbs the enemy stealthily and then shockfreezes him with Touch Spells. I have lost many good enemies to this little bastard :D

She might be my familiar. Maaaayybe....

I had a migraine after visiting the funeral home today. It got real bad. I was laying on my stomach and feeling nauseated. I needed to sit up but somehow couldn’t make myself move and risk more pain. Then here comes my pink sphynxy kitten, batting at my shoulder. She was relentless until she got me sitting up. That’s when the nausea started to subside. Then she backed off and watched over until I fell asleep. When I woke up, she was snuggled belly up against along my torso purring away like she was very satisfied with herself. I have to admit, she’s got some real familiar potential.

Not a familiar per say but my nagaji fighter had a garter snake companion named sir slithersworth. He had a little snail shell with a red feather for a helmet and a equally long backstory as my character where he was basically a snake war hero. He helped us get out if ropes, acted as a messanger, and would advise on battle tactics and forest related creatures ( numbers wise he gave me +1 to nature, survival, and perception). I loved him.

I once had a player with an augur kyton familiar, who was like this sarcastic little narc who helped the party through a bunch of Trials by being distracting and awful to the foes until the party fell in love, when they had to leave the group I worked out a special death scene with the player where the augur turned on its master, having decided that the time had come to advance the plan its demagogue master had, and it killed them in this dramatic death scene inside a crashed war machine

Being offed by your own familiar has to be painful. Especially when it’s a Kyton!

How can I get a familiar like yours?

Many beginner witches via asks.

Let me paint a more accurate picture of what life with my sphynx kitten is like:

For every familiar type thing she does, she does about a hundred annoying cat things like drink from the toilet when she has 4 perfect bowls of water available at all times. What I’m saying is, life with her (and for that matter every familiar I’ve ever had) is 80% routine pet care stuff. That’s not a bad thing. It is partially how we strengthen our bond. A psychic/magical bond only occurs when your familiar is well cared for. Only then can a familiar begin to realize their witchy potential. It’s really quite mundane. That’s part of the reason why certain magical happenings are note worthy-because most of the time she’s just being an ordinary kitten. But from ordinary moments, the magical acts occur. And just like witches, familiars get more powerful with practice :)
