do you ever just want to scream?
So, I am either to return and be more of a hindrance than a functioning employee and be terminated for it, or I am to not return and be seen as an employee who has voluntarily abandoned the job and be terminated for it with the second option at least having the possibility that it can be retroactively undone to allow my return at a later date to comply with applicable laws.
Voluntarily resigning would possibly negate my ability to utilize job protection while I deal with my health, and would also be counter productive - if I cannot currently work the job I have due to my health then I am in no position to seek out other work - which means that for this situation, resigning is not a functional option for me.
and because it hasn't been approved yet, i cannot file a complaint with the wage and hour division of the department of labor - and i can't even follow up with them to see what I *can* do or expect should my claim be approved because of the government shutdown.
