“Father’s Stone” Coleman Road, Newbury MA. Once a marker on the Dummer Farm- the Father’s Stone was commissioned by John Dummer in 1723. The “French King Rock” and a portrait of Louis XIV (the “Sun King”) for which it- and the bridge, and the hotel, and the restaurant were named for. “Tarpeian Rock” just a bit past a vernal pool off the trail in Quinebaug Woods. The pool was frozen solid today so we took a slippery short cut across.
