Had this sitting nearly finished for a week and finally sat my ass down to complete it. It's a fan cel of my original concept, Resurrection Saturn. Acrylic paint on plastic transparency, background is a printed copy of the digital version.

Welp, my first cel!! It was super fun but also INCREDIBLY humbling. Holy MOLY how did folks do this (and way better!!) for entire films?

My Saki Sanobashi fan cel! I made it myself and unfortunately it's far from perfect. ^_^; Normally I'm not really into fan cels (to me it defeats the purpose of having an actual part of the show), but I'll make a big exception for things that are either lost to time or never existed. Saki Sanobashi is a supposed 80's horror/guro OVA that is either extremely difficult to find (verging on lost media) or is just an internet legend. If it exists, the real title isn't actually Saki Sanobashi, this is just a nickname that stuck. From the description of one of the characters I created my own interpretation of what a cel from the OVA might've looked like. The black ink and the blood was printed on, everything else was painted in by hand. Unfortunately I had a lot of trouble with paint mixing consistency, which is why some areas look splotchy... and I actually ran out of paint for the second-darkest hair color and had to remix some more, and it didn't turn out the exact same color. -__- Oh well, maybe you could say it looks like it's aged with discoloration over the years? The background was made digitally to look like watercolor, and printed on cardstock.
