The Fraternity of the Azure Trickster

The Fraternity’s origin is, like that of many Chaos Marine brotherhoods, swathed in such secrecy, rumour and posturing. Some claim them to be the risen dead, taken by the Warp and given fresh life so that they may continue their infernal crusade. Others believe them to be blood-sworn battle brothers who bound each other in oaths to some great daemon, in the belief that such bonds will endure, even beyond death. Some whisper they were deceived, warriors promised great honours and riches, only to be dragged into a Daemon’s clutches.

All that is really known of them is that they served as Word Bearers of the 19th Chapter, The Paleblood Suns, as a principal assault retinue of the Ninth Company- in the formations of the Old Legions, there were forty such veterans assigned per company- and fought in bloody conflicts such as the Isstvan Massacre, The Shadow Crusade of Ultramar and the Siege of Terra.

Appearing as Word Bearers battle brothers in Legion Marked  Mark IV armour, armed with combat blades and combat shields, the Fraternity do not stand out amongst their brothers, save for perhaps the rather modest appearance of their battle dress. But when the Fraternity reach the front lines, in the face of the opponent, the pretense falls away, and the battle brothers reveal their Daemonic natures.

From the joins, seams and ports of their armour, blue flames gutter and gush, and the Fraternity raise their voice in laughter, seemingly unabated for the pain that such fire must inflict. Their combat shields and blades and ignite as well, casting such tools an unnerving radiance.

So I had an idea

Primarch - Triton

"Look at what was lost for such a gain." Triton on Terra.

Has preconcieved ideas of Earth. Apocraphyal maps that predate the Age of Strife.

Disagrees with Emperors approach to planety use.

Friends/Closest with Magnus/Russ and perhaps Lorgar.

Restores Medea after Eldar had already observed degredation, this impresses the Eldar who believe he can help them.

Parallels with Fulgrim.

Planet - Medea

Eldar Maiden World, primarly oceanic. Frontier world and far from the Eye of Terror. Not widely known about by Eldar at large.

Orbits a white dwarf, geothermal energy only means of warmth.

Colonists polluting atmosphere as by product of survive.

Triton uses Wraithbone controlled moving islands.

Restores the biosphere.

Tectonic instability, destruction of colonies.

Legion Details

Abyss/Abyssal (Sub Marines)

Combat doctrine: Can acsertain patterns of action/weakness within the enemy. Takes queues from Eldar teachings and make use of the Webway.

Shimmering armour, changes colour depending on the light.

First Company is mutable, membership is not a permanent deal. High performance in battle is a requirement to stay in.

Terran Marines somewhat distrusted, not aware of the webway/Eldar in general until they prove themselves in First Company.
