I don't know if I have the energy or the words to go super in-depth about this, but as a gay man, I personally feel like removing Hans' bisexuality in favor of a comphet interpretation greatly weakens his story and personal arc.
To me, the whole point of his relationship with Henry is that it's not based on sexuality at all. He doesn't love Henry because he's the first man who's come along who's attracted to him, or because sex with Henry is the first time he's ever actually enjoyed it. Hans loves Henry because they were friends first and, because that relationship was entirely removed from sex, it let him develop the emotional attachment he couldn't with all the women that came before.
It matters that Hans chooses to love Henry even though he doesn't have to, that even though Hans could realistically choose almost any woman with little issue and enjoy being with her, he loves Henry enough to risk everything to be with him.
Taking away his bisexuality removes the possibility for happiness and fulfillment without Henry, and I just think that misses the point.
