your opinion on ... luxury hotels?

Okay. I absolutely love hotels. Overall. But luxury hotels? They’re just something else.

To begin with, I live in an apartment so I’m sorta used to smaller spaces. And I love traveling. And I love fancy bathrooms and little soaps. I fucking love hotels. It’s my favorite part about traveling, aside from the actual being in a different country part.

When I was little, my grandmother used to take me all over the place and we would stay in these ridiculous hotels and I was so spoiled but I loved them so much! I vividly remember this fancy one we went to in Washington DC. I can still see the way the fake cherry blossoms were suspended in the frozen glass in the entrance, and how the shower drained into the center of the bathroom. I love fancy hotels because of my grandmother (and she promises to take me to Paris one day so let’s see what happens there…)

I wrote a novel about young musicians who travel across the world and stay in fancy hotels (while saving mankind from evil).

I went on tour with my orchestra two summers ago, and I was so excited to stay in all these hotels. The last one was fantastic (except for when I got electrocuted): it was so sumptuous, and somehow we had a suite at the end of the hall with an 180° view of the Shanghai skyline. This summer I’m going again and CANNOT wait to see the hotels they’ve given us. (Why yes I already did look them up! The first one has a ridiculous spa, the third one was recently renovated, the fourth one is right on the beach). I guess you can say I’m my book come true, except without the saving the world part (or…perhaps?).

But unfortunately now I have a really high standard about hotels and probably will waste all my money when I’m older on traveling and staying in such fancy places. (Recently I discovered Airbnb and I’m very excited to try it)
