I've found that I've been successful in describing my asexuality by pointing out that, just like them not being able to understand aces not feeling sexual attraction, I don't understand how non-aces feel sexual attraction. I can't comprehend them just like they can't comprehend me. Usually, i have to follow up explaining libido and arousal are separate from sexual attraction. And then they understand that its okay to not understand bc i don't understand them either. As long as there's respect.
