Stiles is barely an inch from his face, trembling with explosive rage, eyes genuinely frightening as they lock onto his and refuse to yield. This is where Derek is truly vulnerable. Fuck the wendigo, bastard didn’t even move that fast. Stiles’ mouth runs quicker and cuts a lot deeper.

It’s not that he didn’t know what Stiles would think about his one man rescue plan. It’s not like he’s never heard this speech before. But the actuality of Stiles’ anger, his disappointment, is always, always startling.

"Are you so fucking damaged that you think no one would care? That it wouldn’t matter if you fucking died?"

It’s not so much the words as how he says them. The force of emotion behind each and every single one. And it’s dangerous. It’s fatal. Derek can’t let it get to him, can’t open himself up to the exasperation and hurt in Stiles’ voice or the bright, frightened anger in his eyes. He can’t let him inside.

He bares his fangs, the dark hiss making Stiles’ cheeks flush.

"Get off. My back."

Turning on the spot, he stalks out of his family house, breaking into a run when he reaches the tree line.

He needs to get away, from Stiles and the small voice that whispers

'pull me out.'

I always thought Freida would be so perfect. I don’t think any other Martells will be cast this season though, though I could be wrong. So Arianne and the Snakes will probably be next years casting rage/pain. Painful rage.

True true, perhaps they'll learn from their mistakes and cast properly next time. Hopefully Oberyn is just a blip (and at least he's only around for this season D:)

I agree with you so much! Honestly my main worry is that the casting of Pedro will be representative of what we can expect for the rest of the Martells. I love the Sand Snakes and despite previous white washing was holding out hope for their castings

The only people I actively wished for were Oded Fehr for Oberyn and Freida Pinto for Arianne, for the rest of the Martells and the Sand Snakes I just wanted actors who felt right (people who both looked the part and seemed to understand their characters). Now I'm not sure what to expect, with an Oberyn who has already been whitewashed, I have a feeling that the rest of Dorne will go the same way "to match"

My housemates were sick of my raving about it after approximately four minutes. He’s so white! Oded Fehr was my dream casting.

I'm currently going insane, I have no one to rant to so I'm pretty much just sat around angrily typing and howling in sorrow at random intervals. Oded was always my ideal Oberyn too, his look in The Mummy (minus the tattoos) was always my mental picture. Pedro in no way has the , "-lithe and dark, with smooth olive skin and long black hair." look that I was expecting. I'm sure he's a wonderful actor, but he simply doesn't have the right look.  It may be a small thing (because sure, there's always costumes and he may totally get the character), but this would have been an incredible part for an Indian or Middle-Eastern actor. Imagine how big this part would be for an actor just breaking out, being thrust right into the mainstream in such an amazing role would do wonders. Instead we have another brilliant PoC character being whitewashed, we already lost Chataya and Alayaya, are we really going to lose the Martells too? After this casting choice, I'm not holding out much hope for the rest of the family :/

Oh no! Not a huge ASOIAF nerd but I know fandom has been freaking out over casting choices. Are they going to give him a horrid tan?

Oooooh I hope not, that would pretty much be the nail in the coffin for GoT for a lot of fans, there's been faaaar too much racism in the show already.  Though I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they saw the controversy surrounding the "browning-up" of the white leads in the Prince of Persia movie, that should deter them from taking that route themselves I wouldn't bet on it though
