Having come into the fandom when I did(sometime in 2011 after seeing [S]Cascade, but I lurked until I made this blog in Dec 2012) it’s KIND OF AMAZING to think there could even BE Homestucks who DIDNT read The Serendipity Gospels(or her other Great Collaborative Works like Promstuck, Bandstuck, and the Hemostuck AU series she did with roach, which was HUGEly popular, and all of which could fairly be said to define the fandom when I entered it[Another, and ESPECIALLY: the standalone short Lalonde’s Inferno u_u It’s a foundational text u_u u_u].), but it is a simple, lamentable fact. The days become months, become seasons, become Years and the Deep Wisdom corrodes, hoarded by jealous fic-hermits. The sands stack o’er our Ozymandias-stones and the Generations march on to raise their own Monuments like, well, some kind of  Hiveswap fic I guess u_u u_u u_u

the online pjo-dom fandom is actually super interesting? if just for the generations. there are of course the Oldest Balls who started fandom on the internet during the time that the first book were actually coming out.

then there’s me and my old pjo mutuals, who are at least for internet fandom purposes are actually the heroes of olympus generation who saw the rise and fall of the kane chronicles. then there’s the NEW kiddos who getting on the ground floor during trials of apollo, with magnus chase already out all the way.

like, i still have a little foot peaking into that fandom all the time because it was my favorite fandom for like, four years if you count before i got onto the internet, but the way that i consume content is still pretty thoroughly through the lens of someone who was a tumblr/ao3 fan in 2012-2014 and i still have those mutuals and we all channel information that suits what was fanon for US but probably isn’t necessarily fanon for the kiddos who are still writing new fic and new meta and making new art.
