incest shippers have been nothing but kind and supportive to me, meanwhile antis have:

suicide baited me

accused me of lying about my trauma and abuse

told me that i must have secretely enjoyed my abuse

told me they hope my abuser escapes from jail and finds me

sent me lengthy messages about how i encouraged my abuser to do what he did because i "fetishize incest" and thus deserve what happened

told me that i should fire my therapist because theyre "encouraging me to retraumatize myself" by supporting the fact that i use fiction to cope

One of my best friends, an incest shipper, actually convinced me, to try out writing darkfic, because I was spiraling in a really horrible way, like making a plan to do something drastic to my body, levels of bad... I was having a massive relapse of a mental health issue from stress, so I decided fuck it... I'll try it. I wrote the most absurd, fucked up, horrible things, that'd get me banned in every anti leaning fandom but guess what? I DIDN'T HURT MYSELF BECAUSE I HAD AN OUTLET FINALLY.

As both a victim of incest and also as a huge incest shipper, please do shut up and maybe try to learn the difference between fiction and reality. Just a thought.

Also it is always my fellow proshippers who are nothing but kind and supportive and even helped me figure out that what happened to me was wrong and thus allowing me to finally seek help. While however people like you antis are always the ones who tell me and other survivors to kill ourselves and that we deserved what happened to us, because we cope in a way you personally find a bit uncomfortable and refuse to curate your online spaces like normal people.

As someone who was abused this way, I've heard way worse from people who were supposedly trying to 'protect' victims like me than people who read or write a fic about two brothers or whatever smooching (or more).

Being told that I was at fault for someone else's actions when I was nine because I'm 'a filthy incest shipper' NOW, a handful of decades later... whew, lads. You're sure standing up for Fictional Character by telling real life people they deserved their abuse, and I'm 100% sure Fictional Character will thank you for your act of moral preaching and harassment.

Anyway I totally ship this stuff because I like having the choice to walk away if it gets into territory that discomforts me, I like getting to play out 'but what if it WASN'T traumatic' with my favourite dolls, and most importantly of all... what if the dolls have super hot chemistry but they just happen to be from the same tree, y'know.

my incest shipping and generally "problematic" friends have all been huge supporters of me speaking for myself and getting justice while the "other side" of people in fandom and people irl have dismissed me or acted like i'm the one in the wrong

Swear to God, fictional shipping is nothing like this. Especially for non-human type of characters.
