You offer criticism of a character based on how badly they're handled in the narrative and the fans of that character say that you just hate that character. Once again I have to explain that fictional characters aren't real so there's no one to hate. It's just a simple critical literary analysis of how well or poorly the creator handled their depiction of said character as part of their story.
