I don’t think I need to tell you about my bad experiences with THAT fandom… I feel like that kind of drama follows me into every Norman-centric fandom. That’s kind of why I stopped writing samhiggs and I only lurk in the Daryl x Reader tag.

Yeah I don’t really know why Norman tends to drag out some insane behavior in his fans but I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’m glad it didn’t ruin Daryl for you completely.

Hmm kay... I've debated speaking about it for quite some time now but if not now when then, eh?

Okay, like... I haven't been in the fandom for a while now because it's just been such a tar (haha) pit, unfortunately. I'm so sorry for everyone who shares that sentiment :(

Anyhow... I've been through multiple targeted moments of bullying just because I voiced my opinion on parasocial fans going absolutely overboard about Troy. That was uncomfortable as hell already, but it only got worse and I'm glad I got out of there. I can enjoy DS on my own just fine. No need for all that negativity and emotional coercion.

I think you’re so incredibly valid for this. I wasn’t directly involved in the Higgs fandom outside of my friends because I prefer Sam and Mama as characters. I do like Higgs! I’m just super gay and Mama looks like my girlfriend and I relate to Sam as well. But from what I’ve seen and heard that side of the fandom got really bad. Which led to a lot of harassment and negativity and some gross content I pretend I never saw. I know there’s a handful of good people and talented creators in that side of the fandom but the second game brought in a lot of toxic and selfish people who took things way too far. I’ve seen people trash talk Troy’s marriage for one thing… and also some creators act like they own his characters and anyone who writes them is enemy #1.

I’m sorry you experienced that. Please feel free to jump into my inbox whenever you need to, I’m going to make fandom therapy a pastime instead of trying to get even with the assholes.

P1/3: I feel same as masochist anon. So thank God for this fandom. Honestly, if it wasn't for you guys, it'd be too exhausting to be a HL/Quarrie fan. Yes, show is grt. But really, how far HL creators go to keep fans happy and fired up in between?

P2/3: It’s strange how stingy HL creators have become! I do get why the plot should be kept secret, but c'mon! Just give fans smth “IF” you care ab us! Some fun while we’re patiently waiting? Some TV appearances, tabloids, gossips, pics, ANYTHING!

P3/3: And whytf RF kept out of sight so much?! In Brody days, DL and CD were evrywhr, a lot of times together, and vry ‘friendly’ I must add.😡 HL owes this fandom big time for keeping the fire burning, smth they must do, but obviouly not capable of.

LOL Anon, they certainly aren’t bending over backwards to please us during the hiatus! Honestly this show has a better fandom it deserves. We keep doing their jobs for them and what do we get in return? More suffering!
