Hey!  The Taag (I call it the Taag, is that weird?) and those who frequent it have been in need of some postivity and love.  So reblog this with a wishlist of Taagnus content you want to see!  Or comment!  Artists and writers, if you’re in need of inspiration or prompts, maybe you’ll find it here in the notes.

Be as self indulgent as you like, and don’t worry if it’s “already been done”.  You want more bed sharing fic?  ASK.  Strait up smut?  ASK.  You have a specific AU no one has done yet?  ASK.  SFW and NSFW wishes are welcome!  Put those wants out into the world, maybe someone will fulfill them!  I know I personally am always looking for ideas.

i wont accept anything less than a mature, adult conversation between barry and iris when he comes out of the speedforce. you expect me to believe that despite everything they have both been through and the previous fights theyve had theyd still play up unnecessary angst? really? i want to see iris safely express her feelings about barry’s decision without some underlying drama okay. let her be angry and let barry listen and acknowledge it properly. please and thank you.

The call came late one night, just before they were about to head to bed. Rhett was brushing his teeth, mouth full of foam, while Link washed his face, bumping his hip into Rhett every so often, their elbows brushing with how close they were.

  The house was quiet and dark, the Christmas tree and outside lights turned off, candles blown out, lamps off. Rhett had softly closed the door to the empty nursery, reaching in to flip the switch that turned off the little Christmas tree Link had so carefully decorated in anticipation of getting a phone call. But no phone call had come, not for months now, the nursery decorations changing with the seasons. Every day that passed without a call had broken Link down a little more, dimmed his eyes and his spirit, breaking Rhett’s heart a little more each day. 

  But now, a week before Christmas, the soft muffled silence that had settled over the house while they were getting ready for bed was broken by Link’s phone ringing, just barely heard over the rush of water in the sink.

  Link raced to grab his phone, water still dripping down his face and onto his chest as he’d not had a chance to dry off. He answered it slightly out of breath, and went silent.

  Rhett carefully leaned down to spit out the last of the toothpaste, shutting the water off just in time to hear Link gasp. Heart in his throat, he turned to see Link standing in the doorway, one hand clasped tightly over his heart as tears pooled in his eyes. He held his phone out, said, “Tell Rhett, Amy.”

  Rhett’s eyes went huge and round as Amy said, “She’s here! There’s an infant that you’ve been matched with. The hospital is finalizing all the paperwork with us, and you can pick her up tomorrow. Congratulations!”

  Rhett choked on the sob that burst forth from him, reaching out to crush Link to his chest. “Thank you, Amy,” he managed to get out, feeling Link’s chest heave against his own.

  “I’ll text you the details,” she said warmly. “Go enjoy your last night of sleep for a while!” She hung up and Rhett let his knees give way, still cradling Link as they sank to the floor, smiling and laughing through their tears.

  “I can’t believe it!” Link exclaimed once he’d finally calmed down a bit. “We’re dads, Rhett, dads!”

  “We are, bo,” Rhett said, wiping his face as Link extended a hand to help him up. “Finally.”

  Link grinned at him and tugged him to their bed, curling around Rhett’s larger frame and running one hand soothingly up and down his chest, listening to Rhett’s steady breathing and imagining the man he loved with their daughter (their daughter!) curled on his chest, sleeping peacefully.

  The next night, Rhett went through his routine of turning off the tree and the lights, making sure the doors were locked and all the lamps were off, before heading to the nursery. Link was already there, stretching the last bit of the swaddle around their daughter’s squirming arm. He scooped her up and handed her off to Rhett, shutting off the light and closing the nursery door behind him.

  The little Christmas tree glowed over the bassinet in their room, bathing their daughter in the warm twinkle of white light. It shone like starlight on her cheek as they brushed soft kisses over her forehead, wishing her good night and sweet dreams.

  The light caught the glimmer of tears in Link’s eyes as he and Rhett settled into bed, Rhett spooning him with his head propped on his hand to peer over Link’s head down into the bassinet.

  “I can’t believe she’s here,” Rhett whispered as they watched her chest rise and fall with each breath, counting each one.

  Link smiled a bit through his tears, “We’re going to have so many adventures, the three of us. Just you wait, little one.” He reached down and tucked his hand into the fold of her swaddle, feeling her heart beat under his palm.

  Rhett reached his long arm over and tucked his fingers alongside Link’s, letting their daughter’s heartbeat lull them into sleep.
