Not me feeling emo about Rhett wearing a lighthouse shirt...
@apparentlynotreallyfinnish I know it looks nothing like your lighthouse, but it's still beautiful and it still made me think of the boys in LMBYL ❤️
me, seeing the note before chapter 13 of Let Me Be Your Light:
When you're obsessed with lighthouses and people think it's because Our Flag Means Death.
But it's actually because you wrote a fic about a grumpy lighthouse keeper and his flyboy (who still live in your head like they're real people).
It's so sweet of the boys to decorate lmbyl-themed for the Good Mythical Summer 🥰
So, @thelionwhoownsmyloins asked if I was ever gonna write more LMBYL and I said no, because to write them again I would need to produce some conflict and I don’t want to mess with them since the boys are so happy now.
They thought this was fair but so upsetting that they offered some suggestion for a good, not too serious conflict. Somehow this turned into me rhyming something silly and them asking me to write it into a ficlet. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint my lion again but there will be no ficlet. Instead please take this:
One dark eve of Christmas a year or two from now
After a wedding under the stars where they’d both said a heartfelt vow
Two trees were erected as was the annual tradition
And the boys quarreled playfully to decide their position
But banter grew louder as there was a bother
One tree was slightly taller than the other
Link heatedly insisted
That the tall tree was more charming
But Rhett persisted
That the small tree was just as disarming
Fortunately, before the night could turn into a proper fight
And the Christmas spirit might be ruined by a difference in height
They whipped out their own woods and took a breather
And lo, the Christmas was saved, for their woods didn’t match either
The night ended with only two trees standing
For the two others had been felled by passionate handling
the scene in lmbyl where they first kiss in storm....the raw emotion of it
That's one of my personal favorites too. 💜 I can see it so clearly in my head. It was one of the first scenes I knew I wanted to include in the fic.
I miss my lighthouse boys...
