Q doesn’t bend for anything and Q certainly doesn’t break for anyone, especially when it comes to stubborn double-ohs intent on making Q’s life hell, so when Q wakes up on a Saturday morning to 12 new texts from Bond and the incessant ringing of his flat’s doorbell, Q makes sure to bring a gun to answer the door.

Q feels the weight of the Glock 19 in the pocket of his dressing gown and sincerely wonders whether to shoot the delivery man or himself.

Or, the one where Q controls the universe with technology and Bond is trying to avoid complications (like falling for the voice in his head).
When Q is flirting with Bond, everything technological around him is pleased: doors open, traffic lights are green, etc. Conversely, when Q's pissed at Bond, his flat's power flickers, his alarm clock resets, and there's no such thing as good plumbing. Meanwhile, Bond's realizing he's starting to fall for Q, which can get complicated real fast; office romances aren't encouraged at MI6 for a reason. I like that we get to see this fall from Bond's perspective instead of Q's - you get insight into his feelings and reactions that are only implied in the movies. Nice change of pace!

Q rolled his eyes. “Oh, there are just bloody wheels within wheels to it, aren’t there, this kidnapping business? Really, you should give it up. You’re not cut out for it. Think about it, your first time out, and you pinch a national intelligence treasure and ask his MI6 boyfriend for ransom. It isn’t very promising, is it?”
Q's kidnapped by incompetent morons and spends the majority of this fic affronted at how boring it all is, really. Q's snarky commentary is absolutely hilarious; he just keeps you rolling with the quips, even going so far as to instruct them on proper kidnapping technique. My favorite part is when one of them tells Q they ransomed him to Bond - can you imagine his face?? Probably one of my top 00Q fics now, ha!
