Almond: Okay, I think lazy isn’t the correct term for it, but they both do think he’s really laid-back and slow. I just remembered how Rachael was slightly annoyed by how non-punctual he was in regards to the star-gazing drabble. So, she might assume he’s lazy. Lee’s a military captain; naturally, he would find slow and easy Mushi to be just as so.
Almond: Mysterious wasn’t on there, but I think that honestly suits how Lee sees Mushi. He doesn’t talk to him, and the two seem like counter opposites to me. Not in a bad way, more in a ‘I don’t understand you, but I respect that’ way.
☁ (for both lee and rachael?)
Send me ☁ to hear a half-asleep thought Lee and Rachael has right before they drift off to bed.
—Rachael—
“Weep not my child for who…One night’s dance…” Rachael felt herself curl up on the bed, squeezing her pillow close to her body as her amber eyes flicker through half-open lids. She was softly singing to herself, lulling into a pleasant dream world far away from the darkness abound, tiny words escaping into the night air barely above a whisper. With her small form pressed against the sheets, she looked no bigger than a child, small and somewhat fragile. Bedtime was vulnerable for the mistress, especially since her emotions disperse like candle light into fatigue and drowsiness. Rachael slowly let her oculars close, the fire going out from them as she drifted off into shadows. “A life will see you through…”
—Lee—
Dark amber eyes peered through the darkness of a silent room, the echoes of a sweet lullaby disappearing into the blackness beyond. A mess of scarlet curls lay atop of a table, a cheek resting on a soft, defined arm; this obscure figure was ready to depart into a blissful realm of whispers and promises. He softly murmured, “Goodnight, doll-face…May ye have a pleasant night…” His voice trailed off, leaving the room into a deafening silence once more.

Almond: Rachael’s a motherly spirit; she’s naturally protective of her friends, and she sort of considers Mushi an innocent child.
Almond: Lee doesn’t know Mushi that well, but I’d imagine he would be confuse by him. Since Lee’s all about chaos and destruction, someone who’s calm and peace-oriented would make him somewhat uncertain of what to think. However, Mushi doesn’t hurt Rachael, so he considers him more or less a good person.
🍰 (cake is always good c:)
“…Cake?”
At this, the small redhead gave a broad smile, pleased by the sudden gift, her sunset eyes glowing in the darkened living room with the equal ferocity of the sun. Rachael absolutely adored sweets; one could say it was her ultimate guilt. With her natural soft spot for cakes, the young female seems to forget one’s sins easily upon their offering of it.
Not that Mushi had ever done anything wrong by her.
Which, ultimately, made her grow fond of him even more.
“Why, thank you, darling! Aren’t you the sweetest!” At this, she slightly giggled, hearing a rough voice groan of annoyance inside of her head.
Ignoring Lee’s obvious displeasure, she proceeded, “I would love a piece! Oh, you know? Cake goes very well with tea! Perhaps I can brew us something and place on the radio.”
Looking at the fire in the hearth, she seemed to be quite puzzled before a momentary illumination dawned across her face, “Ah! I’m missing the coffee table! No matter, the small ones in the guest room will do nicely. Please, sit. I’ll get you a knife to cut the cake…unless it’s already cut. Ah well, doesn’t matter, you’ll still need plates, no?”
Energy was ruling off of her like crashing waves in an ocean; perhaps it was the visit, perhaps it was the invitation of cake. Regardless, she seemed quite pleased–if not, content–to be serving as momentary hostess.
“What kind of tea do you want? I have a very good collection. Perhaps you would like to come to the kitchen with me and see for yourself?”
Yes, most definitely, she was quite happy.
☕️ 🍱 🍪
☕️: Do you prefer coffee or tea? Why?
—Rachael—
Gazing at her guest, she quietly tapped the sides of her cup, the warm steam of scented herbal tea wafting into the air, dissipating into the atmosphere above. Rachael’s gloved hands grew warm, blocking away the worst of the heat from her callused fingers, casually touching the china in a somewhat delicate fashion. “Why, I would think the answer was obvious enough, but I will humor you. Out of the two, I much prefer tea. As to why…I just never liked the taste of coffee. My auntie’s a coffee fanatic, but I never really touch the stuff. I find it too bitter and, on the off chance I do indeed need to drink it, it becomes much more creamer than anything else. Tea, all I need to do is add honey, and voila! It’s tastier and healthier by ten-folds! Not to mention tea provides a number of services to your mentality more than coffee ever could. It really does work wonders. Besides, I prefer the scent of herbs over coffee beans any day.”
—Lee—
“Eh? My preference?” roused the somewhat dreary male. The sleepy expression on his face made him appear much softer than his usually hardened expressions, seeming almost boy-ish with the long, sweeping curls. He tapped the rim of a mug, disquieted or…disgusted almost. The captain scoffed almost indignantly. “I’m a tea man, grew up with it. I would brew it sometimes whenever Pris was ill, mainly because my Mama did the same when I was sick. Unfortunately, for me, tea’s a damn necessity for New Camden folks–the only thing I got left nowadays are endless boxes of coffee.” Lee sighed as he took a drink of the bitter concoction, his face evidently displeased. “And I’m all out of damn creamer. I should really teach myself to ration better…”
🍱: What is your thought on keeping pets? If you had to have one pet, which would you have?
—Rachael—
“Ah, I’ve always rather liked animals,” mused the redhead, taking a momentary sip of tea as she contemplated her next few statements, “sadly, my aunt was pretty stringent about those conditions. I was guaranteed two pets, but neither of them could be a cat or a dog. Strangely, she lets me keep an albatross; I will never understand that woman, but I must say, the peculiar looks I get are well worth it. I digress. Anyway, as for a pet…I dare say I’m quite partial to rodents. Any type really. A hamster, mice, rats…I find something equally charming in all of them. Though, I wouldn’t mind a dog either…Something like a Rottweiler or a Doberman would be nice.”
—Lee—
“Pets, huh?” A small smile broke out across his face, dark amber eyes flashing with jovial delight. This was a subject he could talk about indefinitely–if he could so choose. “I remember always wantin’ one when I was a kid–I didn’t care which, I just wanted somethin’ to call my own. Pris felt the same way too, I think. Yeah, I remember, she wanted a feline. We tried catchin’ them in the streets since our parents were either too busy or too poor to get us them from a shop. Sadly, we were never any good at, uh, cat-catchin’.” At this, he chuckled a bit, taking another swig of his foul-tasting beverage before frowning, pushing the mug away, and taking out a flask instead. Gingerly, he took a sip of the contents within–most likely vodka–and swallowed it. “Much better. Anyway, I’ve always wanted a dog. I didn’t really want the type to fight, more of a sort of companion. An Irish setter, would probably be preferred. Unfortunately, I got allergies to them. If I get one, I’d be sneezin’ all over the place. Lucky me, huh?”
🍪: Are there simple things that make you happy? What are some of them? Do they make you feel that way because of a connection to something? If so, what is that connection?
—Rachael—
A smile burst on her lips at the newly imposed interrogative, quietly setting aside her cup before gracefully putting her fingers on inside her lap, legs crossed. “Simple things? Why, there are plenty of simple things! I must say that this here old radio provides me enough happiness to get through the day! You can thank dearly departed Uncle Lloyd for that. I also greatly find pleasure in tinkering–I like dismantling and putting together old bits of hazardous hardware. Sometimes, I can make rather neat and intricate little contraptions. Hearing people sing is another one. I know of my good voice, and the radio provides a good source, but in truth there’s something charming about hearing it in person. It makes me even happier when I hear those less prone to singing to truly start belching out a melody. I think it’s because my auntie used to sing to me as a child, and New Camden city streets were always filled with song. I suppose it’s just a cultural connection?”
—Lee—
Lee tapped the side of his face, slowly scratching his cheek in a momentary lapse of cerebration. “Uh…simple things? My entire life has been livin’ in a simple home, so I s’ppose I may have a few. Lemme think on it…Ah, I do greatly enjoy playin’ my trumpet–sometimes, my sax if I feel really jazzy. Hearin’ jazz was mostly my youth and, cultural-wise, the Dieselpunk Era was boomin’. I knit on a occasion–there’s somethin’ oddly relaxing in that. Talkin’ to other people is a soul enjoyment, I s’ppose. Eh, a bottle of scotch or vodka gets me smilin’…” He laughed at this momentarily, “…Cookin’ can really bring my spirits up–the smell of spices makes me think of Mama’s kitchen back home. I also got some clothes Pris sowed for me…And, well this one is a little peculiar, I find a simple pleasure in lookin’ at old reports from when I was a cop…” Lee chuckled a bit sheepishly. “I s’ppose a lot of simple things make me happy. I’m a pretty simple guy, really.”
((Sorry this was so long! ;;u;; I just never to get write anything for Lee, so I decided to do the both of them together!))

🌹 (for a new nice friend to another! : ) )
Due to the nature of her planet, the only thing that really manages to grow were copious amounts of various vegetation. Along the borderline edges of the woods was a clump of rosebushes in full bloom. Normally, Rachael wouldn’t dare venture out there since it came rather close with the despairing ruins beyond her home; however, today was a special occasion–and she thought this would provide a nice gift for her newly acquired friendships.
After managing to collect a considerable amount of gorgeous red roses, the female set out on presenting them as beauteous Valentine’s Day presents to the few celebrating it. First, she arrived at Mushi’s–his home was much closer in comparison to the others and, upon seeing his arrival, she graced him with a warming smile.
“Ah, I was just looking for you, dear. I have something to give you.” Shuffling through her basket–a provision provided by her Aunt, Anwen bless her–she managed to carefully draw out a scarlet-colored flower, avoiding the thorns rather narrowly. “I apologize for not getting rid of the pesky thorns before hand. I really should’ve thought of that before heading out. Do you want me to get rid of them for you, or would you prefer not?”
Rachael proceeded to de-thorn the rose anyway, simply due to her gloved hands being in use. Besides, Mushi couldn’t complain about her ridding him of a couple of pests now, especially if he was going to be touching these with bare hands.
The female didn’t want him to have bleeding finger tips; that would be a horrible way to spend Valentine’s Day.
((New friends are always good! Especially when giving them presents!))
