15. The Devil  . Adachi (Persona 4)

“Constrictive forces, materialism, addiction and obsession. Hopelessness.”

A symbol of what can happen when people give in to their raw desires. The absence of light it represents can also show you’re in an unhealthy situation, or stuck in negative thought patterns...such as obsessing over being a big city cop stuck in a podunk town with nothing going on, so you decide to start tossing people into a TV dimension populated by monsters just to liven things up! You know, like you do. Well, not you. Adachi. Adachi did that.

4. The Emperor  . Karl Schubaltz (ZOIDS: Chaotic Century)

“Power, determined action, initiative. Passion and energy for life.”

Authoritative and stern, Karl definitely fits that bill, even though he isn’t the usual ‘old man’ archetype. In his hand is the orb representing the world he rules - the zoid core, heart of the Zoids which are the center for the world of Zi - and behind him is his throne, decorated with four rams heads - the Zaberfang being his chosen seat of power. Mostly….I wanted to draw another robot.

19. The Sun  . Amaterasu (Okami)

“Optimism and vitality. Success. Radiance and warmth. Innocence and self confidence.”

I won’t embarrass all of us by telling you how long it took to think of who to use for this card. The sun card. Maybe the sun goddess. From one of my favorite games ever. Who I’ve done a million drawings and doodles of for years since it came out. Maybe THAT sun goddess. For the sun card. Once I came to my senses though, it was a blast to draw, and had a lot of fun with the flowers, fur and dramatic angle! The card traditionally includes sunflowers and white horse, so using Ammy’s wolf form in its stead seemed appropriate and fitting for her.

16. The Tower  . Coyote (Gunnerkrigg Court)

“Disaster or revelation. Sudden explosive change. Turmoil.”

This was so much fun, and Coyote from Gunnerkrigg was perfect! Change comes with this card, not slowly and gradually, but in an explosive moment of upheaval. A Tower built on false ambition - the school - is struck down by lightning, representing a glimpse of the truth - Coyote is both ancient and wise and a total punk, all three of those combining to make him always taunt people with allusions to the ‘truth’ of the school and the world they’re in. Also make sure you read the comic, it’s online and free and GREAT!

Fandom Tarot Deck (credit to Liz for the idea and description) ↳  0 - The Fool (Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Despite the name of the card, The Fool is no idiot.  He may seem foolish, but only because he is young and lacking in experience.  He is a liminal being, outside of time, both at the beginning and end of a journey.  He needs to look deep inside of himself and discover who he truly is if he wants to know where he should go.

In reverse, if he isn’t careful and doesn’t look deeply enough within himself or ignores reason, he may go wild and make the wrong choice.
