"Ga-yeong?" Gi-hun rubbed his eyes tiredly as he leaned against the doorframe to the kitchen, spotting his daughter in front of the sink with a cup in hand, drinking water like it was going to disappear if she didn't drink it fast enough. "It's the middle of the night, why are you up?" He asked, pushing off the doorway and making his way towards her.
The young girl looked towards him, eyes drooping in exhaustion as she turned towards him with a look of desperation. Tears lined her eyes and she was only barely hanging on by the looks of it.
"Appa, I'm so thirsty, it's so hot, an-nd I'm so cold…" Like a trigger, Ga-yeong shivered near violently and Gi-hun rushed forward to catch the glass before it could slip from her hands and shatter on the ground.
An injury wasn't something that they would want to deal with right now, too.
"Hey, it's okay sweetheart," Gi-hun uttered, his arms outstretched after the cup was set onto the counter. Ga-yeong moved forward and pressed against his side, shivering as he wrapped his arms around her. "Let's get you back to bed, and I'll get you some medicine, how does that sound?" Gi-hun asked, humming as he rubbed his daughter's back.
Ga-yeong made a noise, shuddering just a bit before nodding against his shoulder.
"Okay…" She sniffled, and Gi-hun's heart constricted. He knew that she hated being sick, since it made her so sniffly and congested, but also because she was nauseous all the time but could never throw up and just get it out of her system.
"Come on," Gi-hun hummed, bending down and picking Ga-yeong up into his arms, causing her to laugh slightly as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. He turned, bouncing her lightly only once, before walking towards her room—he only startled briefly when he found In-ho leaning against the doorway to their room with a smile on his face.
"I'll go get some medicine for her," In-ho murmured when Gi-hun was close enough, and Ga-yeong perked up, turning in Gi-hun's hold to find In-ho there, a smile appearing on her face as she waved with one hand before turning back into Gi-hun.
"Thank you," Gi-hun murmured. He continued into Ga-yeong's room, smiling at how at lived in it felt whenever he looked inside. There were music vinyls carefully pinned to the wall that he knew that Ga-yeong had gotten In-ho's help with, and there were poster's tapped to the soft green wall that she painted with Jun-ho when they were first getting to know one another.
In-ho's most important person and Gi-hun's most important person getting to know each other for the day and they chose to set up Ga-yeong's room. Gi-hun smiled as he walked towards the bed that Ga-yeong insisted wasn't too small for her despite In-ho and Jun-ho both claiming it was… There was a spare bed elsewhere in the apartment for when she finally relented and agreed that it was, but she didn't need to know that… for right now.
"Here we go, hon," Gi-hun murmured, smiling as Ga-yeong whined and clung onto him tighter. Gi-hun would always baby his princess, his first daughter, and she knew that. He bent down, using one hand to pull back her blankets—and why she wasn't under her blankets for the first part of the night was a mystery to Gi-hun—before lowering the fourteen year old onto the mattress. "Get some sleep, sweetheart, okay?" Gi-hun asked, brushing back hair as Ga-yeong let herself fall back onto the bed.
The teenager was pouting a little as In-ho came into the room, her glass of water in one hand and medicine in the other. Gi-hun smiled at him as he started on working on pulling the blankets up around Ga-yeong, who sat up and accepted the already portioned out medicine from In-ho. The other man set the glass of water on her nightstand before the crying of Hyun-ja came from the baby monitor and from the room nearby.
"I got her," In-ho murmured, smiling as he ruffled Ga-yeong's hair and pressed a kiss to Gi-hun's forehead.
"Thank you jagiya," Gi-hun responded as Ga-yeong made a playful noise of disgust. Gi-hun and In-ho both laughed as the more stoic of the two left the room and Gi-hun turned back to Ga-yeong who was smiling at her dad. The medicine cap was on her nightstand, and she was laying down again, her arms wrapped around a panda stuffed animal that he bought her when she was five.
Gi-hun softened as he pulled the blankets up around her.
"Have a good night, and please, don't be afraid to wake us up, sweetheart, okay?" Gi-hun murmured, and Ga-yeong nodded.
"I won't be… but you need to rest too… Hyun-ja doesn't let you sleep a full night at all…" She looked uncertain and Gi-hun smiled at her reassuringly.
"You are our daughter, you are my daughter, sleep is unimportant when you need anything that we can help with. Understand?" Gi-hun stated seriously, leaning up and pressing a kiss to her forehead, it was clammy and he made a face at her that caused her to laugh as she wiped her forehead.
He smiled sweetly at her, brushing her hair back once more as she settled further into her bed, curling up slightly as her eyes drooped tiredly. Gi-hun smiled as he ruffled her hair again.
"Have a good night, sweetheart. I'll check on you in a little, but try get some rest." Gi-hun told her, and Ga-yeong nodded, finally letting her eyes close. Gi-hun stayed by her side until her breathing evened out—a few simple minutes that he took to watch over her before carefully getting up and taking the empty medicine cup and quietly leaving her room.
It had been so long since she'd been able to rely on him for… for anything, that… His chest hurt as he went about washing out the medicine cup and making sure that it ended up back with the correct medicine bottle. He ended up splashing himself in the face a few times, trying to pull his mind out of a particularly dark place that he couldn't help but feel like he was helplessly falling into.
"Gi-hun?" Gi-hun's head snapped up, turning his head to find In-ho with Hyun-ja sleeping peacefully against his chest. "Oh, Yeobo," He sighed, stepping into the bathroom and turning the sink water off. "Come on, we'll make something to eat and you can talk to me about what's bothering you."
Gi-hun made a cut off noise as his husband passed him a hand-towel. Gi-hun was surprised when he suddenly had Hyun-ja in his arms too. The six month old merely sighed in her sleep, seemingly nuzzling against Gi-hun and cuddling into him.
"Take your time, jaigya," In-ho murmured, pressing a kiss to Gi-hun's temple—which was still wet from Gi-hun's frantic splashing of water on his face. His temple burned, as if sensitive.

Prompt || Day 2 - Forced to go to Work / School while sick
Characters || Seong Gihun, Hwang Inho | Front Man (Squid Game), Kim Junhee and Lee Myunggi's Child (Squid Game), Kang Noeul
Relationship(s) || Hwang Inho | Front Man/Seong Gihun, Kim Junhee and Lee Myunggi's Child & Seong Gihun, Hwang Inho | Front Man & Kim Junhee and Lee Myunggi's Child (Squid Game)
Gi-hun made a groaning noise as he felt his stomach roll suddenly, he was trying desperately not to seem like he was sick but he was nearly sweating through his suit, Hee-soon had already asked four times in the last hour alone if he was alright… in his own way of course, it would be unbecoming of The Officer to show concern… Several of his personal guards had slowed their gait to match with Gi-hun, out of concern and so that he didn't over do it to himself, which really shows how bad he must have been appearing to others.
And don't even get him started on Il-nam, the bastard somehow still surviving despite the tumor in his head. The old man had called Gi-hun to assist him instead of In-ho, making small comments about work ethic and knowing when to take care of oneself. Assigning him paperwork, since that would have him sitting for extended periods of time so that he could somehow force cup after cup of medicinal tea down Gi-hun's throat.
He was starting to get tired of it, and he was only on Day Two of being sick, and most of that had only happened during the afternoon of the first day. He sighed, grabbing his white geometrical mask that was a direct copy of In-ho's black one, making sure that he attached it to his waist as he carefully pushed himself up and moved towards the bathroom. He knew better than to continue sitting by his very important paperwork when his stomach started rolling like it was.
He'd already had to restart twice today, much to his utter embarrassment and Il-nam's amusement.
And then Sun-hee started to cry from the other room. He swallowed thickly, trying to decide if he wanted to risk waking In-ho up—he'd only recently started recovering from a severe fever, started by an infection that he'd hidden from Gi-hun for weeks after he'd donated a liver to Gi-hun.
Safe to say, Gi-hun hasn't had a damn drop of liquor since he'd been diagnosed as sick.
It had been a miracle that they were matches to begin with, and he wasn't going to risk In-ho losing him too. Not after his wife and unborn child. Not after In-ho had taken on every damn responsibility while Gi-hun was sick and nearly collapsed from exhaustion at his bedside.
Gi-hun turned and made his way towards the playpen, a sad smile on his face as he saw the small child. She had her mother's eyes, and her hair too, that only further had her looking like the deceased Player that had become likeanother daughter to Gi-hun in that short time.
"Sun-hee, little joy, what's wrong?" Gi-hun asked, one arm crossed over his stomach as he carefully kneeled down and found Sun-hee's sippy cup completely empty. Ah, that's what the issue was. She could never have an empty sippy cup, or bottle when they used them yet, or she got fussy.
Gi-hun would never tell In-ho that he suspected it was because of lack of proper nutrition during her final days in her mother's womb. Little food, barely any water… Gi-hun scooped the newly toddler up into his arms, accepting the sippy cup from her as she smiled sunnily at him.
"There we go, no need to fuss now, is there?" Gi-hun asked, moving towards the kitchen. Sun-hee's favorite drink was Blackberry juice, and Gi-hun knew that No-eul had restocked them recently enough that there was an unopened gallon of the juice that the small child loved so much.
And it was only then that Gi-hun got a glimpse of the time and winced. It was about time that Sun-hee had lunch, and No-eul was with Gyeong-seok and hisdaughter for the week. And No-eul was the only one that Gi-hun trusted to prepare food for Sun-hee that was not himself or In-ho.
Gi-hun managed to hide his sickness for a week before his body gave out… in front of In-ho, who was talking to No-eul… who had talked to The Officer who had told on Gi-hun…
Gi-hun was so fucked when he woke up, and he knew it.
"How long have you been sick?" In-ho asked, his hands cupping Gi-hun's face. His voice was even, steady… In-ho's voice was cold in the late night silence that surrounded their apartment, and Gi-hun didn't know how to answer him. Being honest is only going to upset In-ho… but Lying would get Gi-hun iced out again.
Gi-hun looked down, a frown on his face as the tears that had built up in his eyes from vomiting all over the both of them once already suddenly started to fall.
"A little… over a week." Gi-hun answered, not a complete lie. But it wasn't the honest truth, either. In-ho lifted Gi-hun's face with the hands still cupping his cheeks, and Gi-hun met In-ho's eyes. The guilt in his eyes alone would tell In-ho he was lying, but… In-ho sighed, pressing a kiss to Gi-hun's forehead.
"Please, you need to tell me when you're sick, Gi-hun…" In-ho's eyes looked… Even more guilt hit Gi-hun and more tears fell from his eyes. Gi-hun swallowed thickly as his hands slowly rose from his lap to grab In-ho's wrists. Gi-hun's thumbs started rubbing soothing circles into In-ho's wrists, and his eyes fluttered close.
"I didn't… I didn't want to worry you…" Gi-hun's words came out as a sigh, and it felt like all of his energy was leaving him through the connect of their hands, or maybe just In-ho's hands on his face. But he felt… calm. Gi-hun felt so much calmer and… He felt safe.
The moment was broken when No-eul peaked her head into the room, a fussy Sun-hee in her arms.
"She threw up too…" She sounded hesitant, almost uncomfortable. Gi-hun winced when he saw the mess covering the front of No-eul's uniform. In-ho merely moved his arms, reaching out for the small child who had tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Bring her here, we can take care of her. Please, go rest." In-hou offered, and No-eul walked over at a leisurely pace with the toddler, who became significantly less fussy when she saw Gi-hun.
"Thank you, No-eul." Gi-hun offered, smiling almost weakly as the guard passed the toddler to In-ho.
"Thank you, sirs." No-eul responded in kind before leaving the room. Gi-hun would have to remember to send in a request for a few more uniforms for the guard, but he was being pushed to lay back down byhis husband, who had a stern look in his eyes.
Gi-hun pouted but laid down, smiling as Sun-hee was placed on his chest. The two of them were already sick, and In-ho must have needed to go do something—Gi-hun watched as In-ho moved about the room, lowering lights and changing his clothes to match the pajamas that Gi-hun was wearing.
He smiled as his husband climbed into bed with him, a determined sort of look on his face.

"Why are you so sweaty?" Thanos stopped, turning and pressing a hand against Nam-gyu's forehead with a concerned furrow of his eyebrows. Nam-gyu blinked in shock, flinching back from the sudden 180 from his… friend… his ally, and stared at him for a moment. "We didn't even really do much during the last game… You feeling okay, Nam-su?" Thanos asked, and Nam-gyu scowled immediately. Of course, even while concerned he still couldn't get Nam-gyu's damn name right.
"I'm fine." Nam-gyu shoved him off, continuing to walk down the staircases and back to the room that housed all the bunk beds that they were forced to sleep on. He was scowling, he was fuming even, but he only barely managed to not tumble down this small flight of stairs with Thanos no longer next to him like he had been before. Mingle hadn't even been that hard, just brief stints of running with fear coursing through his system while he was high off his mind. Easy.
Nam-gyu scowled again as his vision blurred momentarily before it was normal again.
He kept walking.
Nam-gyu had to ignore the way he could feel Thanos following him, no more than three steps behind any any given time. Something Nam-gyu figured out when he started taking a turn too soon and he caught the briefest sight of the other man. Nam-gyu scowled every time he saw the edge of Thanos in his vision.
He scowled his way all the way to the dorms, glaring at Min-su when the other tried to approach him with a concerned look on his face. Nam-gyu knew that something was wrong enough when he would space out on the walk from the gaming hall to the dorm room, so he ignored everyone and made his way towards his bed.
Nam-gyu collapsed on the thin material, sighing as his body finally stopped hurting. Every movement had caused him to hurt, every stair had him gritting his teeth, and all the lights were doing his head in. Nam-gyu groaned, pulling his jacket off and covering his face with it.
Nam-gyu ignored Thanos and Min-su when they'd decided to sit near him. He waited tense for a few moments before his body protested and he relaxed into the mattress once more. He sighed, his head turning to, annoyingly, face where Thanos and Min-su were sitting.
If they asked about it later, Nam-gyu would pretend that he didn't know what they were talking about.
"Will he miss the voting?" Min-su's voice was quiet, and Nam-gyu scowled from underneath his light blocker. And oxygen stopper, Nam-gyu mused. He wondered if he would actually die from having his jacket laying over his head like this.
"Nah," Thanos murmured in response. "I'll wake him when the guards come in. He'll need something to drink, with how warm he is." Nam-gyu sighed, loud and pointedly, and the two stopped their chattering. There was a pat on his hip—when did Nam-gyu turn to lay on his side facing them?
"Why is he so sweaty?" Fucking Min-su's voice entered Nam-gyu's hearing when he managed to wake himself up enough to hear that the guards had apparently decided it was time to vote now. Finally, he was fucking starving and there was always food after they all voted. He suppressed a snappish comment as he groaned and slowly began to push himself up.
Nam-gyu blinked blearily to find Thanos crouched beside him with the most worried expression he'd had on since Nam-gyu had properly met him, with Min-su sitting on the ground just off and behind Thanos. Nam-gyu blinked at the scene before shaking his head and getting himself sitting up, grabbing the bars of the bunk above him when it felt like his vision was swimming circles around his head.
"You're sick." Thanos murmured, and when Nam-gyu opened his eyes he found that Thanos had only turned his head to follow Nam-gyu's movements. Min-su was staring at Nam-gyu with wide eyes, mouth parted and Nam-gyu… didn't feel his usual irritation build up at how fucking pathetic Min-su looked.
Nam-gyu stared at Thanos before scoffing and looking away.
"I'm fine."
"You're not fine!" Thanos hissed suddenly, moving to sit on the bed beside Nam-gyu too fast for Nam-gyu to process. "Nam-gyu, you're burning from the simplest touch. You're nearly dripping in sweat, shivering like it's the middle of winter, my boy, you're sick with some sort of fever, and-"
"And I'm fine." Nam-gyu sighed tiredly.
"You're not." Thanos responded, his voice low and… dangerous sounding… almost. He sounded more concerned than dangerous, but it had Nam-gyu's skin prickling, and his mind—weirdly enough—sharpening into focus. Nam-gyu tensed briefly, turning and glaring at the other before he sighed, turning away and letting his arm drop as he waited for them to be instructed for this round of voting.
"We're voting X."
Nam-gyu's eyes widened, and he turned towards Thanos with wide eyes. The other looked solemn, eyes hard as he stared at Nam-gyu.
"What-?" Nam-gyu couldn't have heard him correctly. Voting X? Going home? What was Thanos thinking? They only barely had enough for their debts, so why was Thanos trying to leave? They still had to make sure Myung-gi could pay them back—
"Nam-gyu." Nam-gyu's eyes snapped up, finding Thanos crouching in front of him, a hard look on his face. "You need a hospital. We can't cool you off in here, and there definetely isn't enough water bottles to keep you hydrated." Thanos eyes softened suddenly. "My boy, it's okay. We'll all figure it out."
