As I go to bed tonight, I leave my Interpals with this thought about what this band is/has done to me... Dear Interpol (yes, all three of you and you, too, Dengler), Can't you see what you've done to my heart and soul? This is a (beautiful, magnificent, perfect) wasteland now!!!

You know what I would kill for in this season of TVD?

If Ric is getting married, and asks Damon to be his best man, I’d love to see the bachelor party being an episode dedicated to their friendship. 

Other plotlines continue in the episode obviously, but their friendship takes precedent, because it’s being criminally ignored this season, and it’s been so damn important to Damon’s character growth over the years, no matter how much some people would like to argue otherwise. 

I’d love to see flashbacks to roadtrips they went on while trying to bring Stefan back from Rippertown, how they bonded even more over that summer. Moments I’d love to see bonding just between them without Elena or anybody else there.

TBH, I’d quite like to see the bachelor party as one of their old school vampire killing missions, the kind we used to get in season one and two. Then drinks in the boarding house, a moment of honesty about HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO EACH OTHER WITHOUT IT BEING ABOUT ELENA OR JO, IT BEING ABOUT THEIR FRIENDSHIP. Elena gets them with her friends, Bonnie and Caroline do too, Stefan got it with Lexi, hell, even Matt has had it with Tyler and Jeremy before. Damon and Ric deserve the same.

I just want the show to acknowledge how important this friendship is, to acknowledge that Damon thinks of Ric as his brother too (because Damon has called Ric his brother twice in the space of the series, and I’ve never heard him use that in relation to anyone except Stefan, his actual brother who he’s known for over 150 years, before), because I’m starting to wonder if I haven’t just imagined the friendship these lads have shared. Like, did Ric’s girlfriend send Damon to him when he was dying? Did he reach for Damon in his final moments when he was a killer Original, because he recognised him and knew he cared for who he used to be, or did I imagine that? Did I imagine Damon not letting ELENA sit in Ric’s seat at the bar because he was grieving? 

Come on, show, don’t make everything about romantic relationships all the time. Even though it’s my OTP of OTP’s, but pft, who needs screentime to ship something?
