The best thing about being 19 and single on tour is allll the international hotties you get to meet. This post isn’t so much about something I’ve done, but about someone I met. A few weeks ago in BA, a bunch of us went out to a bar in Palermo called the Sugar Bar. It was super cool and super Americanized, with awesome food, awesome drinks, and an awesome atmosphere. We were all brought here because of one very special girl’s birthday. Trish. I got halfway through a tequila sunrise and MAN I was GONE. Everyone was lovin’ it. The breakworkers have never seen me drunk before and everyone got super excited. Okay well maybe I’m tootin’ my horn :P I was just having a really good time and nothing could get in my way. And there he was. Prince Charming. 2 Prince charmings actually…Tall, cute, and English-speaking. Trish was chattin’ them up. I just happened to stumble over towards the bar- and thank GOD I did. I joined in the conversation and eventually took over. I found out virtually NOTHING about them. They were joking with me all night. Not a single truth came out of their mouths, but I was hooked. Not on the sexual blonde German, but his super adorable brunette friend with dimples you couldn’t forget. He was lying about everything—on purpose though! It was actually hilarious, I was in love. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life. For a foreign boy, his English was on point. And then we left the premises. I was TORN. I didn’t want to leave! I wasn’t done talking to him! We were switching bars and all I could do was BEGGG and I was dragged out the door for him to follow. (PLEASEEE). And I was sadly declined because he Didn’t come. And the second club SUCKED. It was called Kika and the lights were terrible. The lines were disastrous. And like I said. He. wasn’t. there. I was out.
Of course, I couldn’t stop thinking about him the next day, and luckily I got the add on Facebook. It was probably one of the happiest days of my life. Of course I invited them to my show, and when I finally got the yes…I was ecstatic. I talked to him all week trying to convince him to meet us (ME) again. We got so close, but our schedules just didn’t line up. So I never did see him again. And that’s the worst thing about being 19 and single on tour. My fragile heart got attached to something that could never be…and to be honest I’m still a little hung up on the boy. He was perfect. But the thing is…I met him, and I guess that counts for something. I’ve made an international friend that I will always remember. And who knows…travel may bring us back together one day…maybe not. And that’s okay. It just has to be okay.
