The Kissing Booth-- Review!
Last night I watched ‘The kissing booth’ on Netflix and I honestly didn’t think I was going to love it as much as I did. It was fun and cute, and the perfect coming of age movie to start off the summer.
The kissing booth follows the story of Elle. Never been kissed, never had a boyfriend and only has one friend, Lee. Her and Lee were born on the same day at the same time and have been treated as twins since. They are inseparable. And one of the reasons their friendship has been so strong is their list of rules. Rules like you always have to forgive your best friend if they give you ice cream and that siblings are definitely off limits. The dance loving duo have to come up with a booth idea for the carnival to raise money for the dance team. The counsel of ‘OMG’ girls love the idea, but only if Lee’s older brother; the hot, mysterious, bad boy, Noah is involved.
The story is funny, relatable, awkward. If you love “trashy” young adult stories with tropes like ‘best friend’s brother’, ‘enemies to lovers’, ‘forbidden romance’, and many more. This movie is for you!
Side note: The story that made the movie possible was written by Beth Reekles when she was only 15 and published the story on Wattpad! I think those facts make the story even more fun. I’m a 100% supporter of fanfic and Wattpad writers.
Another side note: ELLE (AKA JOEY KING) AND NOAH (AKA JACOB ELORDI) ARE DATING IN REAL LIFE AND THAT JUST MAKES ME SO HAPPY!
I gave this movie 8/10 stars, and I will definitely be watching it again!
