It's been harder to make time to read with so much to do this fall, but read no.15 was worth every effort! Everything Leads to You was a stunning read. Tenderly told with prose that swings from subtle to astounding and so very earnest in all the right ways. Pure hearted fun. But that doesn't mean that it is not worth reading.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ “Charlotte and I have involved ourselves in other people's lives in a way that suddenly makes me uncomfortable. Like there was a NO TRESPASSING sign in front of a family's driveway and not only have we trespassed, but we've gone through their garage, opened all their private boxes, rifled through their photo albums and diaries to discover dozens of secrets that were never meant to be revealed.”⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Everything Leads to You follows Emi and her best friend, Charlotte as they discover a letter from a dead Hollywood star to his long-lost daughter that the public has no idea existed. The girls decide to track down the daughter, and so begins a journey of love and loss and film.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ This book is about the magic of the movies and the disenchantment that happens when you know what happens behind the scenes. It's about how that same magic/disenchantment dynamic can happen in other areas of your life, like how you see people.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ LaCour painted a beautiful picture with her words. I loved learning about what being a set designer entails, I loved reading how much our main character, Emi, loves her job.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ All in all, I loved this book. I know it might not seem like it because I don't have a lot to say but I enjoyed reading it from start to finish. I got wrapped up in the world of film and love. This is a great book for anyone looking for a sweet W/W romance or enjoys the world of cinema.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ❔: What is your favourite soft w/w romance book?⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ❕ : I’ve gotta go with Everything Leads to You for this one since I don’t actually read many soft W/W romances. You don't start filming at the beginning and end at the end. It all has to do with locations and schedules. Sometimes, the last scenes are short first, so you know that the couple reconciles, or the hero kills the aliens, or the addict gets clean. You already know that everything will turn out okay, so when it's time for the earlier, harrowing scenes, you can get swept up in them safely.
