This story is the third in a series where I’ve been dealing with Akihiro’s trauma, but it should be easy to follow even if you never read the first two works. You’ll miss critical character development, of course, but I’ve been told you can follow along.

And so the day came. There were a lot of moving parts, and Akihiro didn’t know the whole plan. But he could, finally and not too soon, get out in the open. He was delivered a nondescript spandex costume and tasked with liberating the mutants from a camp in the Colorado Plateau, together with Mystique and Kate. It was originally going to be just Kate and him, but Mystique insisted on joining them.
