Seeing the joke fanon slander, let me lay one more into the pile though it's more of a pet peeve
I hate it when a comic/drawing is trying to take itself seriously and then they draw hoodie like some void child rather than the mask being an actual mask-
Hoodie (Canon): Why is your face like that?
Hoodie (Fanon): *mental breakdown initiated*
Ofc theres nothing wrong with doing that but it just ends up loooking extra silly for me. Please tell me I'm not the only one this bothers.
i've seen a lot of posts about how badly characters from other fandoms such as bungou stray dogs and haikyuu! get mischaracterised in fanon, and honestly i think this should prompt a conversation about how stranger things characters get mischaracterised. particularly will. an alarming majority of this fandom has a very misconstrued view on him. he's not sad cause he's a pining gay, he's literally reliving his trauma constantly. neither is he a shy uwu boy who can't do anything for himself, from what subtext suggests, he's one of the most powerful characters. even if that isn't true, he takes a lot of initiative when he feels it's needed. in conclusion, canon will supremacy 🛐🛐
