I always thought Margaret Schroeder could be the family that Tom has in America
OMG, I have now adopted this as my own headcanon, so thank you. Tom even wanted to give America a go!He would’ve lost track of Margaret (his side of the family never being that close to hers - not that they’d want to speak about her), so he doesn’t know of her married name.Seeing an opportunity to visit America, he offers to accompany Edith to Atlantic City.
