A warm hearted but dimwitt pansexual paladin goes about a fantasy world looking for new people to date and go on romantic adventures with him.
He keeps meeting new people who agree to follow him, slowly going from one or two team-mates to several dozen. He is now known far and wide as the leader of a powerful mercenaries guild.
But he just thinks all of his followers are his various boyfriends and girlfriends, and is completely unaware that they see him as their leader.
“Oh yes I love all my partners! They have such cute pet names for me! Like ‘my lord’ ‘my liege’ or ‘commander! It makes my heart flutter every time!”
“Oh yes I buy my partners presents all the time to show them I care! But they always ask for armor, or more arrows or new weapons. I wish they would ask for flower or candy but as long as they are happy.”
“I am not sure why my first boyfriend always makes my new partners sign a contract before they can date me. I trust them with or without a contract, I guess that is just his way of making sure none of them break my heart. Oh well.”
“Some people get so judgemental that I am dating over thirty people, but whenever fights break out my partners know how to defend themselves. They are so strong and brave!”
“Wow my partners are so accepting of my polyamory they even started asking new people out in my stead! I feel so blessed to have people in my life who think so highly of me!”
Years down the line he is crowned king, a whole kingdom swearing loyalty to him and he is just like: “Wait so you ALL want to marry me? How lovely!”
What makes it even worse is that all the adventures he keeps ‘recruiting’ are equally oblivious in the opposite direction.
“Our commander remembered my birthday and gave me a new sword, he even cooked me my favorite meal from my home town and sang me a ballad about all of our adventures together... he must be a very dedicated leader if he cares this much about a single soldier.”
