What I think we all as d20 fans need to understand about the fantasy high webcomic (webtoon) is that it cannot be exactly the same as the actual-play show. I love the show very much, but for example, the entire first two hour episode is solely introductions, to the characters, their families, the dynamics, the way the school works. Which yes is necessary information, but do you know how long it would take for an artist to animate that much exposition with no real plot going on? Two hours worth of playing dnd is very different from two hours worth of animating. So yeah, they wanted to get to the entire enciting incident where the main characters MEET done earlier, and information about the characters and plot, etc, is going to be introduced as companion to the story. Just because something that was in the show isn't in the same place in the webcomic, doesn't mean they're never mentioning it at any point. Somebody is drawing these panels; a five minute conversation in d20 could be an entire "episode" of the webcomic. If something can be introduced alongside more plot a little later on, or if there can be multiple parts of the show happening simultaneously and quicker, that's like twenty extra panels that don't have to be drawn.
