Before I forget again, what do you think Kairi was doing on that stormy night on Destiny Island as Riku opened the Keyhole to World's heart? How did it happened in the first place: Kairi's heart left her body? Will it ever address compared to Riku's in Reverse CoM? I have waited years and I sometimes forgot about it LOL
This is a great question! I can't remember if any of the Ultimanias have ever addressed this (if they have, anyone feel free to chime in with references), but my hunch is that Kairi was instinctively trying to protect the heart of the world since she's a Princess of Heart. I don't know that she was necessarily conscious of what she was doing, and I don't think she knew she was a Princess of Heart at the time, I just think something deep down urged her to protect the world’s heart.
You know, they revisited why and how she was sent to Destiny Islands in the first place in Melody of Memory a full eighteen years after KH1 came out, so they might address why she lost her heart that night!
My guess is that the darkness was just too much for her to hold back all by herself, even with her light (it's been a while since I've played KH1, but I always got the impression that all seven princesses needed to work together to fully be able to hold back the darkness, and Kairi is just one of them), and so the effort from trying to hold all that darkness back alone tore her heart out out of her body. Then from there her heart took refuge in Sora’s heart etc.

17. Speculate about Utada Hikaru’s theme song(s) for KH4, any collabs, etc.
I think if Utada Hikaru returns, it'll be with a brand new theme song since this is a new numbered title (otherwise, I could definitely see a remix of Chikai/Don’t Think Twice, it’s such a good song). And I think, given the material it seems like KH4 may cover, the theme song might be more somber this time, like an angsty ballad with a lot of longing and grief, given Sora’s situation. But I'm pretty sure I'll love whatever the song may be!
As for collabs, I enjoyed the Skrillex collab for KH3, so I’d be happy for another one! Maybe with an R&B artist this time?

While waiting for KHIV I’ve enjoyed watching newcomers played KH series and FFX and VII at YouTube, my patience for the 2nd trailer has paid off after recently 1st official trailer of FFVII Revelation; same day as FFX Remaster NS2 and (finally) KH Collection NS2. Do you think Disney Square Enix will announce their first world this Disney Expo 2026 and depending on FFVII Revelation? I hope you are doing well. Its good to read your analysis and thoughts again.
That sounds like a great way to make the wait easier! And yeah, now that we've gotten another KH4 trailer, I think it's very possible we get our first official world reveal at D23 this year in August, because that would be the perfect marketing tie-in for Disney. Tokyo Game Show in September would be another prime time to do another world reveal, though Square may focus more on Revelation, as would The Game Awards in December (similar deal though, Revelation will probably get the focus there).
My gut instinct is that KH4 is coming out in November or December 2027 at the earliest and more likely spring 2028. I think Revelation is probably coming out in March or April 2027, and I think Square will want to give it at least six months to breathe. They may also try to space the two games out in separate fiscal years, like have Revelation in March 2027 and then KH4 in December 2027 or March 2028, because that would be different fiscal years.

I have also enjoyed FFVII Revelation trailer! For main game KH4 do you think Sora is traveling worlds with Goofy and Donald (sooner than Riku)? Star War’s Galaxy, Land Of Dead or Inside Out makes since for Sora’s situation but I can’t imagine Moana World, Zootopia, etc. I guess no Gummi Ship. I feel World of Moana, Land of Dead and Star Wars is perfect meeting between Sora & Kairi. Even though the official said Sora is traveling various worlds, do you think Kairi will sing like Sora & Yuna.

You know, that's a really good question. It wouldn't feel like a numbered title if Sora didn't travel with Donald and Goofy at some point, and I suspect pretty much all the footage we've seen so far of the game is from the first several hours, so maybe KH4 has a long prologue, and Sora, Donald, and Goofy will reunite sooner than we think and will be able to travel together. Yeah, I actually think that might be what happens. We get an extended prologue in Quadratum, and then Donald and Goofy meet up with Sora somehow and the Disney world visits commence à la KH2.
The other option is that Nomura shakes things up and Sora does solo world traveling more like how things were in DDD, or he has the Dark Road and KHUx characters in his party, even for the world visits, for at least part of the game. But I do think it's significant how we've seen Donald and Goofy twice now in both trailers. I'm going to laugh if they somehow get to him before Riku does, but maybe Hades can give them a little boost lol. I do think since it's a numbered title, it's likely the Gummi Ship will return in some form, but I'll be curious to see how world travel is implemented.
The fact Riku and Kairi haven't been shown at all yet tells me they're probably going to get big outfit reveals in later trailers, much like what happened in the lead up to KH3. Riku’s outfit was revealed February 2018, and that was less than a year before KH3 came out, and Kairi’s outfit was revealed I wanna say in June or July 2018? My memory is a little rusty, but I feel like it was in the summer of 2018. I also think their roles might be kind of spoilery, so that might be why we haven't seen anything yet.
Sora and Riku I think will meet up by the halfway point of the game or maybe the climax of the game, and Sora and Kairi I think probably won't meet up until the climax or ending of the game since I suspect his motivation this game is going to be reuniting with her. I would love some ship tease and pining moments before that in the Disney worlds though, especially in those worlds you listed! And it would be really nice to see them traveling together again at some point.
And Nomura really wanted to make Versus XIII a musical after watching Les Miserables iirc (I believe Yoko Shimomura had words about that and/or about the musical songs she had to write for Atlantica in KH2 lol), and Aerith just had her power ballad in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so who knows, maybe KH4 will get a song, and Kairi would be a good candidate. I wouldn't be against it if it was implemented well, had really strong lyrics, and was sung by someone who really has the chops. As much as “finny fun” will amuse me to the end of time, I don't really want a repeat of that lol. But a song like 1000 Words or No Promises to Keep? That could be good, depending on the execution.
Hi Phoenix, how's Final Fantasy VII Remake? In next game, do you think Kairi will run into Tifa who's still searching for Cloud? Will Sora or Kairi meet Zack Fair in the next game? There is black feather scene with Zack in BBS credits. Honestly, I am hoping to get a chance to play Kairi, Riku, Aqua or Roxas to fight Sephiroth and other FF antagonists who appear in DFF series e.g. Kefka. I am excited for the next Final Fantasy VII Remake part and Kingdom Hearts game!
This is so delayed and I'm so sorry it took me so long to answer, but:
I loved FFVII Remake! It was just a joy to play and I fell in love with the characters all over again. And I do hope that the next KH game includes more of the FFVII characters like you suggested, I like all of those ideas and it would be fun for the KH cast to team up against Sephiroth or another FFVII villain like Kefka. and seconded on being excited for the next installment of FFVII Remake, I can't wait to experience the next part!
I see many new people and even YouTuber Dansg08 (I've known him for many Finay Fantasy series) started Kingdom Hearts for the first time! What do you think why they do it now? Were you a Final Fantasy fan before you first started KH? I had fun watching their reaction to F.F. appearance each scene. My brother knew them, but I didn't. I've started F.F. thanks to KH! I've read your answers before from 2015 (?), but what made you started KH?
Probably because the KH games are now playable on the Switch 2! I think a lot of people will get into the series that way, because another barrier of access has been removed, and Nintendo consoles are quite popular. Especially once more information about KH4 comes out (which fingers crossed the D23 KH panel in August has a world reveal and/or trailer 👀), because then the hype will start building.
And yes, I was a FF fan before I got into KH! And my friend encouraging me to play KH is what got me into it ❤️ She figured I’d like it and she was correct, lol. I think a lot of people get into FF and KH that way, by starting with one series and then beginning the other because their interest is piqued.
