All of the characters have their own powers, but technology is used regularly during the novel, be it for simple stuff loke phones that have holograms or a bit more complicated stuff such as sintetically created tattoo ink that can (under sttict control and regulation) give the wearer either telepathy or the ability to read somebody elses emotions (just used for mentor and disciple teams and only the mentor can read them) #fantasywipapril 4.
