Faquarl Day! #9月9日はコックでフェイキアールの日 Bart I depict has cat's eyes with vertically elongated pupils, whereas Faquarl has octopus eyes with horizontally elongated pupils, hehe. I don't particularly like this painting itself, but as I rarely draw him, I'll post it here.
Just as Bartimaeus met Ptolemy, if Faquarl had had such an encounter, his life might have been different. I sometimes think so, but looking at Hopkins' fate, I also feel that, in the end, no matter what encounter Faquarl had, it would have been difficult for him to be saved by humans. Perhaps even if Faquarl had met Ptolemy, as soon as Ptolemy set him free, he might have eaten Ptolemy as a ‘foolish human who believed in djinni’. Bartimaeus was saved by humans because he himself took an interest in them, believed in them, and in a sense possessed a heart capable of loving them; something Faquarl lacked. However, that does not mean Faquarl were foolish. Rather, it was Bart who was exceptionally unusual, for he never abandoned hope in them, even after being betrayed time and again.
