Farid x Sumeru! Landscape Architect! Reader
I always teleported to Sumeru to exchange my raisins just to see him.
You were frequenting this road far too often. It was like wherever you needed to go the path right next to the alchemy table was the shortest you could take. Especially when the task for the day was connected with your senior, Kaveh.
You were a student at the Academy, and a Kshahrewar student at that. You worked mainly on gardens and grew your own plants. You might have been better off as an Amurta scholar but you hated writing extended research on different types of flowers or any other greenery.
Not to mention, you decided to become a landscape architect because of the breathtaking work Kaveh did with not only the nature surrounding the Palace of Alcazarzaray but also the many projects you saw during one evening when the architect was drawing correction after correction in his blueprint in the library.
He tried to caution you on becoming an architect but you were simply far too stubborn. Soon, he realized how fulfilled you felt when your ideas were appreciated by others and made your clients happy. You could say that because of that Kaveh became some sort of mentor to you and you could always come to him whenever you had some problems.
Same for him.
Honestly, it was hard to keep count of how many evenings and even nights you spent with Kaveh complaining and drinking. Complaining about what? It seemed like everything seemed to irk him. The corrections for projects, the deadlines, the scholars, and his roommate, whom he could talk about on and on and on. Despite meeting AlHaitham only a few times, you felt like you knew him for the last couple of years with all the facts and information Kaveh shared.
Yet, you were thankful for befriending the architect, because if not for the frequent meetings between you two, you wouldn't walk that road, and you wouldn't see Farid. But you could and it made the constant and unchanging road a little more bearable.
Since the first time you saw him, he got your full attention and you would lie if you said your eyes didn't search for him while walking by the alchemist. He brought you into this strange sense of becoming more clumsy and more fidgety than usually.
You caught his attention, as well. He first noticed you when the loud architect had his arm around your shoulder and you pulled his drunk ass home. You were so nice - apologizing for the ruckus Kaveh was making whining out loud into the night, so beautiful - your big eyes from being tipsy stared into his and he felt as if he could get lost in them, so everything.
Farid was in awe of how eager you were to help others and how much fun and joy your work brought you. He felt all warm inside whenever your smile appeared on your face or later in his mind.
Seeing you with the big cart where you usually had some small potted plants or flowers, he was instantly by your side to help you, even for the short path. You always became flustered by that but also oh so grateful for the aid.
However, this time he was taking care of some scholars that he had to stop from throwing their books at each other. He saw you in the corner of his eyes and he really wanted to come help you but he really couldn't and his work stopped him. Right after resolving the whole scholars issue he noticed a small potted pinkish, slightly reddish flower lying on its side in the grass. It looked exactly like the ones you had in the cart and so he walked closer and picked it up. He gathered the fallen soil and placed it back in the pot.
As his work finished he took the flower and brought it with him, his eyes moving around the city trying to catch sight of you. When he wasn't successful he found himself at home with the pot placed on his table as he sat in front of it. His mind went into a spiral of thought about you and how you'd take care of the plant, not to mention that you were probably looking all around your cart for this one.
In the following few days, he didn't meet you, concluding you probably had some project out of the city and so he spent the evening looking through the library to find out what kind of flower he collected and how to take care of it. He swore to take good care of it because he didn't want you to get back to a withered plant.
He was just thinking about buying a watering can to make it easier for him and use it instead of a cup, his thoughts clearly not on his patrol, when your voice greeted him. "Good afternoon, Farid." He almost jumped in his place before turning towards you, his cheeks warming as he saw your pretty smile. "Good afternoon." He replied his gaze stuck on you before he reminded himself of what was on his mind just then. "Ah, (Y/n) did you perhaps lose a flower a few days ago?" He stepped a little closer to you, his eyes quickly darting around before stopping on you.
"Hmm.. actually yes, I couldn't find one of the Marcottes I had. I actually got a little too many flowers, so it all went well even if I couldn't find it." You commented, your finger tapping on your chin as you recalled the previous commission. "A-actually I found it later on, it must have fallen from your cart." He said and when he noticed your eyes getting bigger with excitement and a pretty smile blooming on your face he turned away. Coughing once he timidly looked back at you. "I got it back at home if you'd like it back."

You were glad to know that someone was taking care of the flower, even more so that it was Farid. You were about to agree to get it back to bring it back to your home before an idea came to you. It was a perfect situation you could use to get closer to him. "I'd like for you to keep it if you don't mind. When it blooms fully it will have a unique smell, maybe you'll like it." You said with a smile, your eyes crinkling as they closed. "Ah, I'm not sure if it will last until then." Perfect, his answer was perfect as you chuckled to yourself and eagerly replied. "Would you like me to teach you then? How to take care of it?"
His heart skipped a beat at your proposition. It was great, did you know what you were doing to him asking such question? He could finally spend some time with you and it wouldn't be in the middle of his work. "Sure, yes, that-" His voice grew louder, and he coughed trying to keep his emotions in check. "That would be great, thank you." "Fantastic, I will come back by the time your patrol finishes and we can go check on the Marcotte, is that okay?" Farid was frozen, his mouth opened softly but no words came out, as he already thought about you walking home with him. His head slowly nodded as he gazed at you in his daze. Oh Archons, he felt as if he was dreaming, he finally had a chance to sweep you off your feet.
