Cody does wear a cowboy hat quite often, but I can’t draw them lmao. She mostly wears a short sleeve jackets but on the colder days she definitely doesn’t mind a cosy hoodie!
Meet my farmer, Lara Birchwood, of Birchwood Orchards and Winery. She’s married to Sebastian, and they have two human children (Aiden and Sabrina) as well as a frog son (Grimm). I am nearing the end of Lara’s fourth year in Pelican Town.

Name: Olive
Other names: Terra(used in ANB), Rue(used in 3oT)
Nicknames: Echo
Farm name: Bloom (technically she and Fig share the same farm in ANB though)
Age: 16 at the start of ANB, in her 20s when she moved to 3oT
Personality: She's incredibly paranoid and trusts very few. She doesn't smile often and doesn't understand jokes. The people who have seen her smile feel extremely blessed.
Relationship Status: Married
Spouse: Woofio (her soulmate)
Friends: Fig, Tina, Allen, Dr. Klaus, Kasumi, Ford
Biography: Fig helped Olive get started in Echo Village after she got away from her guardian. She has grown to trust the earlier villagers more and has been helped a lot by Fig and Tina. At first, Allen just helped Olive with styling her hair, but eventually he felt bad enough for her situation to help out with her clothes and makeup too. Whenever she wears stylish outfits, it's something Allen picked out for her.
Unsure why, Olive has always had an interest in Dr. Klaus. He finds her bothersome and has never encouraged her fascination. When she got older and left Fig behind in Echo Village, she ended up meeting Ford in Westown who reminded her so much of Dr. Klaus that she couldn't help visiting him consistently. Ford doesn't know what to make of her interest.
Olive got along with many of the Tsuyukusan villagers, especially Kasumi and Komari, but in the end settled down to live in Lulukoko with Woofio after they fell in love. I'm not going into detail about that because it's just Woofio's events.
Future Goals: To start introducing herself as Olive now that she trusts more people and feels like she can settle down.
Extra: She doesn't care for labels of any kind so I would say she's asexual but she wouldn't say anything. She's trans and she loves dogs. She misses the dog her guardian owned, since he had been her one friend back when she had to live there, and now she makes sure she always has a dog in her life which she names after him. His name was Freddy. Also if Olive was a marriage candidate in a game, I would marry her in a heartbeat.

Nicknames: Meddy(only close friends call her this), Angel(Mistel calls her this), Babydoll(Apollo calls her this but not often)
Farm name: Cursed
Age: 19 at the start of SoS
Personality: Although she's very ladylike in her appearance and demeanor, she can be very blunt and impolite. She's shy, anxious, and is bad at making eye contact.
Biography: Medusa spent most of her childhood on the ranch her Aunt and her Aunt's wife owned so she was the perfect applicant to become a farmer in Oak Tree town. Despite the unexpectedness of both Orion and Medusa turning up, it worked out well for them because Medusa was happy to remain living with Eda and helping on her farm while Orion took over the farmland Veronica prepared.
Medusa had a hard time opening up to people unless they spoke to her first and mostly interacted with all her fellow farmers. Later on, since she is very concerned with beauty and Marian is an inspiration to her, she happily joined the "Beautiful Dreamer Alliance." She also became friends with Agate because of their shared love of animals.
After Eda's death, Medusa took over her farmland but she fell into a depressive episode and did very little at first. Nobody could help her, no matter who tried. Nadi never knew her before then but after getting fed up seeing her so miserable, he tries to make her laugh. She's so surprised that she does end up laughing and that's when she starts healing. Nadi and Medusa started hanging out then and have tons in common. Mistel interfered then before she got any closer to Nadi.
Medusa was afraid at first but couldn't deny the feelings she had for Mistel and accepted his confession. She was happy with him but as time went by, she became more and more afraid of something disastrous happening. After Orion disappeared from town, she fell into another depressive episode and broke up with Mistel so she could hide away from the world again. Iris was furious when, months later, Medusa explained her entirely selfish reasons for the break up. For the first time, Medusa was made to consider things from someone else's perspective. Before Orion returned to town, Medusa apologised to Mistel. He had blamed the break up on himself for moving too fast and mentioning marriage too early, but after actually talking to each other and understanding what the other is thinking, they get back together. Look at that, actual communication in a relationship! It works! Wow.
After they get married, Mistel helps support Medusa through her depressive episodes and she starts to manage them better without always needing him. Their son, Percy, reads a lot about different places in the world throughout his youth. Their daughter, Echo, prefers finding and playing with wild animals which causes her parents a lot of panic. When they grow up, Percy and Echo decide to travel the world with their combined expertise. Mistel has a harder time saying goodbye to them than Medusa does.
Future Goals: To see her children return home safely one day. She knows they won't travel forever so she wants to hear their stories when they return.
Extra: I make references to Greek mythology but these characters are totally different from their namesakes. Medusa is pansexual and has always been very quick to form crushes. I don't even think of Mistel as her perfect match because I've considered so many alternative partners for her that I'm conflicted. I like telling stories and with Medusa, I feel like I could have told a different one that could have been just as good or maybe even better. I didn't even have room to add her story with Raeger in her biography...

Personality: He's a sensitive and kind young man. To be honest, he wants to be a punk, but he's so not punk. Ah, perhaps one day...

Biography: Fig inherited the farmland in Echo Village from his father so he officially owns the farm but he works together with Olive on it. He often asked Rebecca to train him so he could build muscle since he respects her more than anyone else, and she has grown to tolerate him and helps when she has the time. Initially he hung out with both Yuri and Allen because of fashion but became friends because he gets along with them so well. He's also drawn to Soseki despite being exasperated with him often.
Fig liked Michelle when he first met her, but it was actually Olive, since she's very suspicious of strangers, who discovered Michelle's true character. After telling Fig about it, he still ended up asking her out and was never surprised by any of Michelle's behaviour because of that.
After Fig began dating Michelle and showed that he accepted her as she was, she helped him learn to accept himself too. He worried a lot about other people's perceptions of him before then. In the end, Michelle proposed to him because she was tired of waiting and he then rejected her. Later that year he proposed to her himself and explained he had not been ready before because he wanted to be strong enough to carry her over the threshold of their new home when they got married. She had just thought he hated her.
Future Goals: To make enough money through farming that he can afford HRT for both himself and Olive. I've planned more of Olive's story so she's further in the timeline, so when she has moved to 3oT, she has already started HRT. Fig also wants to dye his hair red some point soon (which I should do ingame but for some reason haven't)
Extra: If I had made his story differently, he would be much older at the start of ANB and be in a love triangle with or married to both Soseki and Michelle. He's bi and trans and maybe he's a glutton for punishment because why else would someone be interested in both Michelle and Allen.

I haven’t actually gotten to play as him yet but I intend to use him in Story of Seasons... and then I really want to use him again in a game where he fits in better, but I have no idea when that will be.

Age: He is older than his sister Artemis by 3 years, meaning he is 27 when he arrives in town
Personality: His upbringing has given him a lot of biases which he is still working to unlearn. He's serious and keeps to himself mostly.

Biography: Apollo and Medusa dated back when they both still lived in their hometown. Their relationship before and after starting to date was pretty much the same, which made Medusa feel even more unlovable. Once Apollo was finally able to see Medusa's feelings, he broke up with her and encouraged her to pursue her dreams by moving to Oak Tree town and becoming a farmer there. Medusa and Apollo have stayed in contact by sending letters to each other.
Years later, Apollo received a letter from Medusa inviting him and Artemis to her wedding. Since Medusa had not even mentioned that she was dating anyone, Apollo was very concerned and suspicious, and asked to meet her fiance the moment he arrived in Oak Tree town. Mistel and Apollo still do not get along. Apollo hadn't planned to stay in Oak Tree town after Medusa's wedding but during his visit to Mistel, he encountered Iris and very quickly decided she was perfectly suited to him and began courting her. Orion dislikes Apollo's view of Iris as a 'perfect wife' and so gets in the way of them from time to time.
Apollo enjoys hanging out with Margot to pass judgment on the other townspeople. He also gets along with Klaus because of their similarities but sometimes Klaus finds him a bit insufferable. When Apollo first met Agate, he did not like her and refused to help her if she asked. However, over time he grew endeared to her because he likes sweet and kind people, but he'll deny this attachment because she's so unrefined. His opinion of Fritz is similar to Agate but he spends even less time with Fritz due to him being even less refined and lower class.
Apollo and Artemis don't get along because they both think the other has it easier than they do. Artemis believes Apollo is happy with his life and since he has the support of their parents, everything he could want is within his grasp. Apollo believes the opposite, that because Artemis has freedom and isn't bothered by the expectations of their parents, she can do anything she wants and nothing holds her back. They both focus on each other's flaws because of their resentment of each other, and so their arguments sometimes help them to understand their own flaws better.
Future Goals: To break free of his family's expectations and find his own path. He doesn't know what job he wants to do or what kind of life he wants to live and is always concerned that he is getting too old and doesn't time to fix his life, but he is trying not to fall back on his old habits. He also hopes that if he finds his own path, it will be easier to stop being so judgmental of others.
Extra: I make references to Greek mythology but these characters are totally different from their namesakes. Since I've mentioned orientation with everyone else, I basically have to talk about it with Apollo too. Out of all my farmer characters, he's the straight one (except he's not). Because he's in conflict between who he is and who his family want him to be, he stays in the closet. The only people who have ever supported him in his life are the people who would want him to keep pretending. I think this is probably why I feel closer to Apollo than my other farmers, since all the rest of them have already come out.

Personality: He has a logical mindset and puts a lot of effort into his work, but he firmly believes that enjoying life is the most important thing. Thoughtful, kind, and an overplanner.

Exes: A girl from his hometown who I never came up with a name for, Lillie
Biography: Orion moved to Oak Tree town to escape his hometown and due to his circumstances, Veronica allowed him to stay despite having already accepted Medusa's application for the farm instead of his. Medusa and Orion got along while living with Eda so they're happy with the arrangement. Orion also became friends with the townspeople easily, especially folks like Fritz and Agate. However, he always looked out for Veronica and Angela in particular because he worried about they were too focused on work like he used to be.
Orion dated Lillie until he realised he was in love with Angela. The fallout from breaking up with Lillie caused him to feel like it was a mistake for him to come to Oak Tree town. He left the town behind for several months until Agate tracked him down and convinced him to return. Ever since, he has started patching up what he left behind. He became friends with Lillie again after he eventually began dating Angela, because only then did he explain why he broke up with her.
Many years later, Orion starts working with Artemis to help families escape from their hometown. Artemis works on the inside, funneling people out, while Orion and Angela help set up places for them to go to. Orion, Angela, Medusa and Mistel all help to take care of the children who are sent to them ahead of their parents and the orphaned children. This keeps them busy after their own children have long since grown up.
Future Goals: To rescue everyone who needs to get out of his hometown. He's pretty happy with everything else in his life.
Extra: I make references to Greek mythology but these characters are totally different from their namesakes. Orion's favourite subject is astronomy. He loves staying up late to stargaze out in the fields but Angela gets angry at him for this, reminding him of his health. He's ace, pan, and gender nonconforming which was the reason him and Artemis started hanging out originally. Also Orion and Angela's children derive their names from physical characteristics. Cosmo's name comes from the idea that his skin looks like a constellation (due to vitiligo). Aurora's name comes from her hair being distinctly brighter and more colourful than her brother's. These aren't really things that Orion and Angela could have known about when they were naming them, but is that how I name characters? No. Do I think naming characters after physical characteristics is a good idea? Not really.
