Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup whole milk. Red, black, and white food coloring gel.
Instructions: Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk. Put away. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in another bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and then the vanilla extract. In thirds, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing them in with the milk each time. Start with the dry ingredients and end with the milk. Don't mix any further than that. Get three bowls and split the cupcake batter between them. One bowl should stay plain. Use the food coloring gel to make one bowl red and the other bowl black. To make a marbled look, put a little of each color of batter into a different cupcake liner. You can mix the colors together a bit with a toothpick. In a hot oven, bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Place them on a wire rack to cool all the way down. Put white food coloring gel on a clean paintbrush and use it to make spots and patches on the cupcakes. This will make the cow print. For the smash cake, use the rest of the cake batter to make a small round cake. Once it's cool, add a cow print to it too. You can now eat your Barn Farm Cake Cupcakes with Cow Print and Smash Cake.
