Repost from @sullifarmandkitchen “It’s not that hard once you get the hang of it” This is funny, if you think about it. I often catch myself bewildered that someone thinks it’s “so hard” to cook, or practice a healthy lifestyle, or grow some of their food in their backyard. It isn’t a matter of difficulty or hardness, just one of unfamiliarity. When we are unfamiliar with a lifestyle, habit, or skill, we deem it hard. We are capable of learning most anything, to some degree. We don’t have to be scholars to appreciate philosophy. We don’t have to be health coaches to eat well at home. We don’t have to be full-time farmers to know how to grow some potted herbs. The acceleration in a field could then be defined as hard, such as feeling comfortable using a laptop but not being qualified to write code. That is familiarity with no continual development. So then couldn’t it be agreed that entry into a field is subject to simple familiarity, and skill in a field is subject to hard work and a prioritization of time dedicated? Don’t be put off by your first reaction of difficulty to that which is unfamiliar. That which you seek to learn or implement does not have to be hard, unless you choose to excel in that field of course. Growing in familiarity of a subject is the best first step to encouraging that positive change in your life. Be open to learning, you don’t have to be the best in the beginning, or even ever. It’s really not that hard, once you get the hang of it. : : #farmphilosophy #thoughtoftheday #sullifarmandkitchen #writing #learning #positive #outlook #learnmore #openminded #challenge #quoteoftheday #lifestyle #simplechange #skill #farming #smallfarm #growyourown #eatbetter #realfood #freshlettuce #handpicked #local #seasonal #backyardgardening @maddygreenphotography https://www.instagram.com/p/B8t-C6qAxk7/?igshid=16q25x8ua9c0v
